Tuscan on Infinity

I will be on board next month. How was the food and service? Any discount? Toying with the idea of giving Tuscan another chance on a different ship.

We were on the Infinity last May and ate in Tuscan.

- menu was fixed price with a couple of premium entrees an upcharge but still plenty to choose from

- food was fabulous and now the pasta is made fresh onboard and excellent

- service was top notch

- discounts are available throughout the cruise with up to 50% discount

Tried Tuscan Grill on the Solstice last September. Exactly the same experience.

I had also thought that Tuscan was the best...at least 2 dozen times.

Got off Infinity yesterday......not so much.

Dinner..6:30...appetizer brought at 7:20..same for adjacent table.

Filet w/ au jus...cold au jus. Very noisy, lots of loud ladies..loud music. Could not wait to leave.

Lunch..1:00...mostly empty. Looked forward to favorite Tuscan lunch..

filet over polenta w/ rich dark gravy. No longer on menu.

Chicken Parm...deep fried, served on buttered pasta w/ side monkey dish of

cold, jarred sauce. They microwaved to warm sauce.

Spoke w/ the chef....please add a little oregano, basil, garlic..something to that

jarred sauce.

Guess I was happy in the end that the Ultimate Dining Package was not available for 4 night cruise.

We just returned from the 16-night eastbound Panama Canal cruise on the Infinity. We were in a suite and found that the Tuscan Grille was our favorite place to have dinner on the ship. We preferred it over Luminae. They did have the 2-for-1 on the first and last day. We ate there 3 times during our cruise and the service was alway lovely and efficient and we never had a bad meal. The pasta dishes are available in full-size which were really big and half-portions which are great for side dishes. They offer 9 oz filets which were cooked exactly how we ordered them. I also had two different types of fish from the menu and they were excellent. They offer you homemade limoncello prior to dessert and it was really good. I recommend Tuscan on Infinity!

I had my family with us in Alaska in June on the Infinity. The four kids (30+ y/o) and my husband thought our dinner in the Tuscan Grill was outstanding. Service was terrific. The steaks were amazing.

We liked it so much it is now the standard we apply to other meals. In fact, my husband and I just booked suites on a Caribbean cruise on the Summit in mid-December. We chose this over a comparably priced Silverseas cruise because of our experience in Luminae and Tuscan.

No discounts offered because Tuscan was sold out! Capt. Berdos moved his Table to MDR because he could've get a reservation to hold his Captain's table in Tuscan or Qsine. Discounts are only offered when reservations are light. Not the case on this short cruise. Service might have also suffered due to the very heavy demand. My guess is that lots of discounts will be offered on my SIL TA.

DW and I had the lunch at Tuscan as part of the only package they were offering this cruise. Lunch at Tuscan and dinner at Qsine for $60 per. Not much of a discount, but we wanted to eat at both at least once. We were very pleased with both the food and service at both restaurants.
