CruiserBruce Posted November 4, 2016 #2 Share Posted November 4, 2016 Huh? You don't some some sort of statement that says you are paying $XXXX for your cruise? If you asking about fare classifications like airlines use, I am not aware I have ever seen that info be public.

If you asking about fare classifications like airlines use, I am not aware I have ever seen that info be public. Example ....we are booked at the past guest rate on our upcoming carnival cruise. Not sure what rate we are booked with for our 2017 princess Alaska cruise. And yes I do have a statement saying the total amount ..amount paid...balance etc.. cherylandtk Posted November 4, 2016 #4 Share Posted November 4, 2016 If you are booked at a special rate fare you can ask your TA what it is (or call Princess if you booked direct).
skynight Posted November 4, 2016 #5 Share Posted November 4, 2016 Example ....we are booked at the past guest rate on our upcoming carnival cruise. Not sure what rate we are booked with for our 2017 princess Alaska cruise. And yes I do have a statement saying the total amount ..amount paid...balance etc.. Princess does have some lower fares on certain cruises for past passengers, ie Captain's Circle Members, for early booking. You can see if your cruise qualifies by first going to the Princess web site then searching the fares for your cruise. Then second, log into your account on the web site, then search your cruise again. If the fares are lower, you qualify. Not certain, but believe these past passenger fares may also apply to customers of the "World's Leading Cruise Lines" of which Carnival is a member. Don't expect a large fare reduction. Frequently the promo fares & perks are better. If you are booked under a promo fare the promo name and perks are mentioned on your Princess Booking Confirmation, Passenger Copy. Promo If you are booked under a Casino Rate, that will also be mentioned. Check with your T.A. Hope this answers your concerns.
Rare CineGraphic Posted November 4, 2016 #6 Share Posted November 4, 2016 The invoices from my TA all have a line for rate codes. FIT, NY2, N65, TNRUE1 I have no idea what they mean, but I always pay less than asking price.
Rare geoherb Posted November 4, 2016 #7 Share Posted November 4, 2016 I looked through a past few invoices for cruises. Apparently one of my TAs doesn't write the rate code on invoices and another one (with a different agency) does. For our upcoming cruise next month on the CB, the rate code is FLB, which I understand to be one of the flash rates offered by Princess after the final payment date. I always check out the price on the Princess website before signing in and after signing in. My TAs can almost always get me a better price. It doesn't matter to me exactly how they do it, but it is interesting to see the rate codes.
MCC retired Posted November 4, 2016 #8 Share Posted November 4, 2016 There may be several Rate Codes on every sailing . They appear and disappear throughout the time that the sailing is bookable ( sales promo , resident , senior , flash , past guest , etc.) They are not combinable . Just 1 code on your booking . A good TA will make sure that you get the best rate code for which you qualify at the time you book . It is usually up to you to monitor sales after you book and contact who you booked with to see if there is now a better Rate Code for you . Just ask whomever you booked with for the Rate Code if interested . Sent from my iPad using Forums
