George C Posted December 1, 2016 #51 Share Posted December 1, 2016 We've been on 3 12 nite Mediterranean cruises and always planned to visit the Sistine Chapel in conjunction with the Vatican.. However, either closed for religious holiday, maintenance, etc. we have never been successful in getting to the Sistine Chapel. Hopefully, this August cruise we will have more luck as far as I can determine it will be open. I would not want to do that in August, we just did it in September, it was so hot, no air movement and wall to wall people

congonati Posted December 1, 2016 #53 Share Posted December 1, 2016 Ok, I'm not thinking balcony club here [emoji85]I have never been to the spa. Never gambled in the casino. No rock wall or flo rider. Never been to quest. Have only seen the love and marriage show, actually. No other shows. Am I missing out?? We usually spend our time at the pool during the day and bars a night. We nap before the late seating dinner and then go dancing after dinner. We are emerald so we have a few cruises under our belt. Until last month, I could say the same as you (minus a very small amount of gambling). I participated in Quest last month. I WATCHED flo rider while sipping a bloody mary one morning. Other than that, we pretty much do the same as you. :) That's just adds to the many excuses for booking more cruises!

jt58203 Posted December 1, 2016 #55 Share Posted December 1, 2016 Never got chocolates during the nightly turndown service on RCCL (it's been a couple of years--has this changed?) Sent from my iPhone using Forums mobile app
2chiefs Posted December 1, 2016 #56 Share Posted December 1, 2016 I have not been in any of the RCL ship pools or tubs for I always imagine them to be unsanitary. They can't be unsanitary! There's so much chlorine that even people have a hard time living. Oh, that reminds me. I've never found the "no-peeing" section of the pool. Tin can Posted December 1, 2016 #60 Share Posted December 1, 2016 Never been to an art auction - always been a bit wary of what goes on in there! Never tried escargot - always meant to... wolfcathorse Posted December 1, 2016 #61 Share Posted December 1, 2016 (edited) never went to an art auction never did Rock Climbing wall (bad knees) never went to the gym I have (twice) blown the horn on departure out of Miami (the ships horn, not the captain's, get your mind out of the gutter). Is that close enough to steering the ship? Edited December 1, 2016 by wolfcathorse

George C Posted December 1, 2016 #63 Share Posted December 1, 2016 What time of day. We're hoping to do it early in the am. Is it worth getting private tours via Viator. WE did it at 2pm during the week, we had a private tour guide via Rome in Limo, I like having the guide but it doesn't avoid the crowds, but may skip line to get in. cynt Posted December 1, 2016 #67 Share Posted December 1, 2016 I have never cruised in a suite. I have never skipped paying gratuities. I have never tried the flowrider, I'm scared. LOL! I have never purchased art at the art auction I have never won the slot pull. I have never purchased the alcoholic or nonalcoholic drink pkg. I have never cruised without getting a tan. I have never had a zero account balance on my SeaPass card at the end of the cruise. I have never gotten married on a cruise. Rare BillOh Posted December 1, 2016 #68 Share Posted December 1, 2016 Problem with art auction is if you drink too much of the free champagne you might buy something There isn't enough alcohol in the world to get me to dance in public or buy art on a ship. travelin_nat Posted December 1, 2016 #70 Share Posted December 1, 2016 I have never used the Spa, never stayed in an inside cabin, stay mostly in suites but have never eaten in coastal kitchen, never rock climbed, and have never used the solarium. Also ,in the spirit of Cruise Critic, I have never shared my drink package, smoked on the balcony, noticed pepper grinders were missing, hogged a pool chair, flaunted my cruise status, worn shorts in the MDR and have absolutely never been upset that the bananas were in a bowl next to the ketchup and mayo. Too funny. Love it!
Rare island lady Posted December 1, 2016 #71 Share Posted December 1, 2016 (edited) I've touched the wheel, but it was disabled. Auto pilot. Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Forums mobile app You touched the actual wheel?!! You are now indeed blessed. :D :D Or was it that toggle stick thingy? Just not the same as the sailing days of old with those huge ship's wheels....think Johnny Depp saying "Yo-ho...and a bottle of rum....now bring me that horizon!!" :p :p Edited December 1, 2016 by island lady
2chiefs Posted December 1, 2016 #72 Share Posted December 1, 2016 However, area surrounding Naples is beautiful--such as the Amalfi Coast, Amalfi, Capri, Pompeii, etc. Haven't been to those places. I lived in Sardinia for 2 years and was fortunate to travel to Rome, Naples, Genoa, Pisa and Florence on a shoestring. Didn't have much money in those days (1976-1978).
