cruise47 Posted January 5, 2018 #804 Share Posted January 5, 2018 Thanks Lloyd, it has been confirmed the “X funnel has been installed on The Edge.” That funnel is the true trademark of Celebrity Cruise Line.

koolforkatz Posted January 5, 2018 #808 Share Posted January 5, 2018 I wish they had decided to paint the magic carpet in their signature navy. But I still think it will be a gorgeous ship.
Cruise a holic Posted January 5, 2018 #809 Share Posted January 5, 2018 Love the look of the funnel...hate the look of the magic carpet. So glad we changed sides. We are now away from the magic carpet which will obscure visibility- even the tracks will hamper the view. We were close to it and it would have been noisy also. We can enjoy it, when we are in it. cruise47 Posted January 5, 2018 #810 Share Posted January 5, 2018 Thanks Lloyd555 for that photo by Christophe Dedieu. It give us an upfront look of The Magic Carpet. I liked the feature when he enhanced the photo.

Rare hcat Posted January 6, 2018 #812 Share Posted January 6, 2018 Love the look of the funnel...hate the look of the magic carpet. Agree,...funnel looks great. The MC contraption is ugly from most views, my opinion!
Getty123 Posted January 6, 2018 #813 Share Posted January 6, 2018 I luv it all, the colors are not matching but constracting and that makes it good look good. It’s all about the big picture.
Beachlover1989 Posted January 6, 2018 #814 Share Posted January 6, 2018 Love the look of the funnel...hate the look of the magic carpet. Completely agree. I know they think they want it to stand out, but in the long term I think they'll regret not sticking with a classy look. signora Posted January 6, 2018 #816 Share Posted January 6, 2018 Blue and orange are complementary colors on the color wheel--I'm getting used to the look, kind of like it now!;)
44North Posted January 6, 2018 #817 Share Posted January 6, 2018 Blue and orange are complementary colors on the color wheel--I'm getting used to the look, kind of like it now!;) Hi: I totally agree. Modern designers often recommend orange as an excellent accent colour. Our condo design consultant encouraged us to think outside the box and use orange as an accent colour ... it worked amazingly! The Magic Carpet is an "accent" to the ship and orange is appropriate. We need to think this signature piece all glassed in and decorated... it will be amazing; particularly in the evening. More importantly it is our grandson's favorite colour... enough for us :D! I also suggest orange as a decorative colour is a generational preference. blueboro Posted January 8, 2018 #821 Share Posted January 8, 2018 Maybe it looks better when completed. But now it looks like scaffolding. I showed the photo to several people who thought it was something to gain access to the upper levels for construction...not a permanent feature....similar to a lift to get up to the top of crane. Lloyd555 Posted January 8, 2018 Author #822 Share Posted January 8, 2018 Small question. Where do the helicopters land? On the landing pad of this other STX France project sitting in the basin in front of the Edge. ;p

cruise47 Posted January 9, 2018 #824 Share Posted January 9, 2018 Is that a barge, we are looking at with the helicopter pad? It must be fogge in France this morning.

Reminds me of rigging on a container ship. Hope they paint it white in a couple of years. It will blend in.
