my cabin shows available

I checked this morning for my final payment date of a cruise next spring and noticed that my cabin is available. I then looked at my personalizer and I still am assigned my window suite. At first I was going to call Princess but then I thought - gee, I really am not thrilled with a cabin without a balcony but a friend talked us into getting them since both of us have been upset with the decreasing suite perks the past few years and decided Princess suites are not worth the price so we thought we'd try the ws.

Anyone have this happen???

I have never heard of anyone getting an upsell or upgraded to a full suite from a window suite - or maybe I have never paid any attention to the ws posts.

Anyone with experience with this? or maybe it is just an error on the website.

Thanks

You should contact your TA (or Princess if you booked direct) right away to check. Perhaps they are upgrading you. I hsve heard that they are known to do that if you don't specify not to upgrade. Good luck!

Thanks Richsea,

I just discovered that the same thing is true for our second cruise - b2b - our cabins are up for sale for both cruises.

My wife would really like a suite with a balcony and if both are really really available, she would love it if someone booked it so they would have to bump us up. I am not up for paying $8000 more for a full suite. After 15 years of only booking full suites without every being upgraded, it would be nice to get an upgrade.

So, I don't want to give them a heads up. Now if every suite was sold out, then I would have called right away.

I never heard of anyone upgraded from a ws and didn't realize you could specify not to upgrade. Maybe if you had small children.

thanks again

Please be sure to come back to let us know what happened. I have heard that the window suites down the hall where it opens out near the casino on the Grand are not so great. Plus, P301 is not as large as the other ones ... hope they didn't move you ... unless, of course, it is to a suite with a balcony. Then I would hope they did move you!!

Let us all know the outcome. Thanks!

Yes we have had this happen before. A quick call to Princess and the issue was corrected. It was just an error on the site and if someone tried to book that suite it said it wasn't available.

Since the OP says the personalizer still shows the window suite being assigned to the OP, then there has been no upgrade. If there had been an upgrade, there would be the new cabin showing in the personalizer.

We've stayed in window suites and full suites several times. Don't underestimate the window suites. You get more space, more storage, a nicer bathroom and a more convenient location than the other suites. Of course, only you know how important a balcony is to you. Having said that, I would avoid F301 unless it was the only window suite available.

Years ago I was upgraded to a mini without balcony .

This was on Island Princess left forward last cabin before sea:D

There was an employee staircase next to it and the clanging of the door plus the fact over Princess Theaters one heard all the rehearsals before the shows.

Big and spacious lots of room.If one was hard of hearing its an ideal suite.

Understand not relevant to the query on this post but this named kind of mini mentioned so thought it might interest you.:)
