That is my mission.. to find out for you. Will get back to you with details.

Thanks, I appreciate the offer but remember to enjoy your cruise as well. If you happen to hear of anyone that has done it perhaps some details would be good.:D

I did read something about the Taste of Film recently - thought it was here somewhere. Was very informative too. They were only using one movie at the time - can't remember which one but it had someone like Helen Mirren in it. Half the movie was based in India so they brought out indian nibblies during that part. Then the movie was based in France so they brought out some french food during that time. People had commented that you need to eat something before or after as you don't get a full meal.

Sounds like the film was '100 foot journey'.:D

Hello, my husband and I will be sailing the Solstice for the first time Jan 12 (our 4th Celebrity cruise and first time to that part of the world) - we are trying to decide about booking dining package and/or excursions in advance or wondering if they will offer better deals on board. What are your thoughts on that? Thanks so much for the info, it makes the upcoming trip even more exciting!! Hope you are enjoying your time on board!

Appreciate the offer regarding info Fiona.

I wouldn't spend too much time trying to find this out, but if you're passing Guest Services and there is no queue perhaps you could ask please.

Overnighting at Yorkeys Knob in March.

Have they decided on late night / early morning tender schedule yet ?

I'm sure our roll-call would appreciate any info.

Thanks.

I am reporting back with information. Lol. I just went past the concierge lady and asked her.

Re tender schedule overnight at Yorkeys knob, tenders will be running 24/7 continually (approx every 20 min). BUT from midnight to 6am it will only be hourly.

We enquired when onboard as it was something that daughter and husband really wanted to do. I had heard that if you enquire they may do single free of charge tours, like just a bridge tour or just a engine room tour etc...... on previous cruise lines we did the full tour which from memory was about $150.

But we're told that they no longer offer these tours (the free ones) as of about 12 months ago.

Haven't heard them do free public tours for a fair few years.

There's gold (money) in them thar tours though, so they seem to have ramped those up a bit.

Thanks for offering to answer questions! When in Noumea did you dock in town, or further out where they shuttle bus you into town?

Yes we docked at the cargo terminal and they had the busses to take you to the main terminal. Only the smaller ships can dock at the main terminal.

Tenders all night? Maybe Princess is getting a commission from ye olde Cairns Casino, (MGM?)

In November 2016, the cost of the shuttle from Yorkeys Knob to Cairns was $16 USD per person, added to your onboard account of course.

No sure if you used the shuttle more than once if you had to pay for each trip.

Any idea what the current exchange rate is on board ? I was surprised that to ring up and put onboard credit to my account was only $1 AUS = 69 c US. Also at the same time purchased onboard credit for my Royal C cruise and it was 77 cents, same person at the call centre for both companies.

You can buy OBC through the Celebrity website and today is still quoting .769c

thanks really appreciate it, just done now :-) Saved me heaps, they must have not updated their website cos just rang again and still at only 70cents over the phone.

70 cents is below the current exchange rate, which is .7206 as I type this. Not worth buying at that rate.

Keep the paper work and do not be surprised if it is not on your account until the second day. There should be cards in your cabin on the bed when you first board.:D
