TheDougOut Posted December 28, 2016 #3 Share Posted December 28, 2016 That should make for an interesting project. I imagine it'll be quite the challenge.
tallyho8 Posted December 29, 2016 #4 Share Posted December 29, 2016 The Celebration was the first ship we ever cruised on back in 1995 when it was the Carnival Celebration. It was old then but I guess it is still good enough for a 2 day cruise.

TheDougOut Posted December 29, 2016 #10 Share Posted December 29, 2016 Actually it was posted five hours earlier in another thread. Actually 5 hours ago someone in this thread already referenced the earlier thread. My attempt at pointing out irony. :)

TheDougOut Posted December 29, 2016 #14 Share Posted December 29, 2016 This may be my cruise-geek side talking, but I think his efforts at turning the line around would make for entertaining reality TV. We already know he's not camera shy with his Undercover Boss participation.
coaster Posted December 30, 2016 #15 Share Posted December 30, 2016 (edited) Hopefully they will get away from bookings tied to shady vacation packages sold via postcards in the mail and robo phone calls. The picture of the above deck pool in a post above was a previous ship under Celebration Cruise Line that was a former ferry that was scrapped after a 2014 collision with an underwater object. The current ship is the former Carnival Celebration and has a real pool. The link below shows the listing of the ship that was scrapped. http://www.cruisecritic.com/news/news.cfm?ID=6046 Edited December 30, 2016 by coaster
Rare LMaxwell Posted December 30, 2016 #16 Share Posted December 30, 2016 He needs to turn that into a 3/4 night ship, not a 2 night. I live 20 minutes from the port and while they are constantly advertising deals, after taxes it doesn't come up to be such a bargain for a 2 night cruise; within spitting distance of most 3/4 night cruises out of Miami or Port Canaveral. I've been interested to try but not at current pricing.

Cruisercl Posted December 30, 2016 #18 Share Posted December 30, 2016 I, for one, wish him the best of luck; he knows how to get a cruise line out of the gutter and make it successful. :)

Good lord...what a ship!
coaster Posted December 30, 2016 #20 Share Posted December 30, 2016 I hope it works out. Hopefully, it can expand to other older ships. A version of the former Premier and Regency Cruise Lines where older ships can continue to provide additional years of service to passengers where ice bars, bowling alleys, rock climbing walls and multiple surcharge restaurants are a just a gimmick. martinchem Posted December 31, 2016 #21 Share Posted December 31, 2016 That ship would fit nicely in a Cuba port.
