khewston Posted January 1, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 1, 2017 We are thinking about renting a car in Fort Lauderdale so we don't have to stay to close to the port. Does any of the car rental companies drop you off at the port? Also, can you pick the car up from FLL?

Langley Cruisers Posted January 2, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 2, 2017 We use a big box store to get amazing rates on rental cars out of FLL. :) We rent there, return there and either take a cab to the port or we could use the shared shuttle bus if we wanted to. ONLY Alamo/National/Enterprise run a shared shuttle bus from Fort Lauderdale Airport. Off site offices include: Hertz from Crown Plaza Hotel Avis from Hyatt Pier 66 Budget on 17th in shopping center next to Renaissance Hotel Sixt further up 17th. Thrifty/Dollar just out western port exit. Enterprise in the Hilton Marina on 17th Street Contact them to see about a shuttle to the port.
Clarea Posted January 2, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 2, 2017 We've used Avis at Hyatt Pier 66 several times, and they have a free shuttle to/from the cruise terminals.
bonsai1 Posted January 2, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 2, 2017 We are thinking of doing the same. Wonder if car rental shuttle from POM will drop off at FLL?
lovessa Posted January 2, 2017 #6 Share Posted January 2, 2017 Similarly, I m also curious about this. I was pondering a flight into orlando for an upcoming cruise out of FLL which would require a oneway rental car (and 3 hour drive). If I do this, what are the options from getting from the various rental car locations to the port? Are there shuttles available or is it more of an Uber situation? How far from the port are these places? Are any better than others? Any good experiences out there?
Corby114 Posted January 28, 2017 #7 Share Posted January 28, 2017 If you rent from either Alamo, National, or Enterprise they will shuttle you from FLL to Port Everglades. If you rent from either Hertz, Dollar, Thifty, Budget, Avis, Sixt you have to drop off the rental at their off site locations that are relatively close to Port Everglades. They will then offer you free shuttle service from their off site locations.
Rare teacherman Posted January 30, 2017 #8 Share Posted January 30, 2017 We are flying into FLL on Thursday, Feb 16. We have reserved a car from Budget and will drop it off at their 17th St office on Saturday. They will shuttle us to the ship. I reserved the car 2 months ago. Since then I have monitored current prices and have re-done the reservation twice as the price has dropped. We reserve through Co...o.

imlulu Posted February 1, 2017 #11 Share Posted February 1, 2017 Thanks for info. We have a reservation at Thrifty after our cruise. I am unclear on why we would purchase plate pass. Worth the $10? We plan on staying in FLL.
