bettty45 Posted January 2, 2017 #1 Share Posted January 2, 2017 We are a high level status on Carnival. When you book on HAL do the reciprocate that status since Carnival owns HAL? Appreciate any information one can share. Bettty45 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
innlady1 Posted January 2, 2017 #2 Share Posted January 2, 2017 (edited) Welcome to the HAL board, Betty. Unfortunately, they do not transfer the status. You will be one star as a "thank you" for your CCL loyalty. I guess, but that's it. We're doing a Princess transatlantic this fall, only because the itinerary is so much better than the ones offered on HAL, and are in the same boat. No pun intended! blizzardboy Posted January 2, 2017 #3 Share Posted January 2, 2017 You will be given Star Mariner status as a past cruiser. Carnival Corp does not have Loyalty Program reciprocity between it's lines.
Critical2Cruise Posted January 2, 2017 #4 Share Posted January 2, 2017 They supposedly are working on a reciprocity program between CCL, HAL, and Princess but not their other brands. Not holding my breath but they really should find a way. We're Platinum on CCL and would love to try the other two brands without starting over. Krazy Kruizers Posted January 2, 2017 #5 Share Posted January 2, 2017 It would be nice if all the days we have on Princess and Cunard would count towards HAL actual days.

HAL cruisers are a breed apart...when it comes to actual days. We once had lunch with a young (about 80) single HAL cruiser who told us she was on her 6th cruise. She then explained that her first 5 were all full world cruises....and she was taking our particular cruise (62 days) to try something short! Only on HAL :). Rare Scrapnana Posted January 3, 2017 #9 Share Posted January 3, 2017 With the one star you will be invited to the Mariner's Luncheon or Brunch. You should e-mail or call the Mariner's Society so they will know about your status on Carnival.
DisneyDatknee Posted January 3, 2017 #10 Share Posted January 3, 2017 Call Mariner Society. They got my mother and I our numbers -- they called Carnival to verify we were VIFP guests. Can't wait for my first HAL cruise.

Couldn't be our venerable Platinum Plus "Dottie" because with a twinkle in her eye she snaps none of your damn business, when asked how many days she has sailed HAL. travelasap Posted January 8, 2017 #13 Share Posted January 8, 2017 No credits, however if you own 100 shares of CCL, you get $100 OBC credited to your account. You just have to send them a copy of your stock purchase.

You just have to send them a copy of your stock purchase. Only partially true, so lets set the record straight. The OBC is dependent on the length of your cruise. For less then 7 days it is $50. For cruises from 7 days to 13 days it is $100. For cruises 14 days or longer it is $250. Where it gets interesting is when you take really long cruises (such as over a month). In some cases you could opt to book cruises back to back with different booking numbers for each cruise...and then request a separate OBC for each cruise (which is usually OK if each cruise has a separate booking number). But if you book a long cruise (say 60 days) with a single booking number then you will only get the $250. Hank
Rare Ken the cruiser Posted January 9, 2017 #15 Share Posted January 9, 2017 The only two cruise lines I'm aware of that share accumulated cruise points is Celebrity and Azamara which are both of course owned by RCI. However, any cruise points accrued on RCCL sailings do not get added to that accumulative total. We're traveling on an Azamara cruise next year and we will be traveling at the Discoverer level as we will have made Elite status on Celebrity after taking a cruise with them this Fall. iancal Posted January 9, 2017 #16 Share Posted January 9, 2017 (edited) Not certain about Azamara. But certainly our Elite status on Celebrity was honored on RCI. It translated into Diamond status on RCI. The best component has been access to the Diamond lounge no matter what cabin class we happened to be sailing in. Concierge, breakfast, lunch, open bar in the evenings. Gratis. It is why we shake our heads about paying for Neptune. Rare Copper10-8 Posted January 9, 2017 #17 Share Posted January 9, 2017 Great story. Couldn't be our venerable Platinum Plus "Dottie" because with a twinkle in her eye she snaps none of your damn business, when asked how many days she has sailed HAL. That would be Dolly Smith ;) Great character! She loves to talk about when, as a 13-year old, she and a girlfriend hitch-hiked from Santa Monica, CA to San Francisco, CA where they managed to get on a Matson liner to Honolulu, Hi. Pretty sure she's on the current world cruise which left Ft. Lauderdale on 04 January
thinfool Posted January 9, 2017 #18 Share Posted January 9, 2017 Cruise lines owned by Carnival Corp (not Carnival Cruise Lines) are challenged with meeting the demands of their individual loyalty programs. Already there are adjustments in place for fewer perks, multiple 'special' meetings or meals onboard. Free laundry benefits are stressing the facilities on board. All of this because of the huge number of repeat passengers holding loyalty levels that entitle them to those rewards. The idea of granting thousands of Carnival cruisers the same level of benefit on Princess or HAL, etc. (or visa versa), while appealing to individual passengers, is, no doubt, a really bad nightmare for managers and crew onboard any given ship. Personally I don't see it happening anytime soon. My suggestion...if you want status on HAL, Princess, etc....book a cruise, get started. :D
sandij Posted January 9, 2017 #19 Share Posted January 9, 2017 We will be two star mariners after our upcoming HAL cruise while we are aleady Platinum on Carnival, I will miss the embarkation and disembarkation perks we get on CCL but still love cruising enough to stand in line.
