We are leaving on the NOTS, doing the same trip, on Good Friday. I am just curious which nights are formal nights as we want to try Izumi. We will wait till be board to reserve just in case they are offering a special (occasionally I have a propensity to frugality).

We love the Serenade OTS as well. Have been on Navigator before. You will like it, from what I have seen the formal nights on a 9 nite is 2nd night and 8th night. On most cruises formal nights are second night and next to last night at sea. In fact I am doing a b2b one Navigator next month. Doing Serenade next January 2018 can't wait. Do not like Anthem of the Seas, crowded, decor modern, asian, and somewhat tacky. Rooms are its only saving grace, layout great. Beds are hard as well as pillows. Our room attendant was able to help with that. Serenade is so classy and not tacky. You will enjoy your Navigator cruise. No luggage valet services out of Miami.

Just a quick note to let inquiring minds know that I am onboard the NOS and having a wonderful time. Ship is clean, staff is friendly, food is good albeit maybe not as many selections in the windjammer, but I have not been disappointed. I am a luxe traveller and I am not disappointed. Just returned from private excursion in Curacao called Resort for a Day. It was at the Santa Barbara Resort. What a fantastic find. Also, we did the Chef's Table the other evening and everyone please note that it takes place in the Windjammer. Everything great however the location could be improved on. We have dined at Izumi (great) and Giovanni's (good). We also did My time Dining on the first formal night and were pleasantly surprised with the attentive service and good food We are in an OS and love the space and the bed is comfy! Concierge Lounge is small and the Diamond Lounge is big and beautiful. Half way into the cruise, I am giving this 2 thumbs up! We are in Aruba tomorrow followed by Bonaire the next day and then 2 sea days. We are really enjoying this relaxed itinerary. I will post a full review when I return home. If anyone has any quick questions, I will try to answer in the next few days. Happy and Safe travels!; :)Pam

 

Pam - If you are heading back to the Concierge Lounge, please say hello to Nadja from Cheryl. I did B2B in December and I have never seen a concierge who worked so hard and such long hours. She was great! The concierge lounge is "interior" and smaller than Diamond Lounge, and I went to both. The open feel and views from Diamond Lounge are indeed way better than in the Concierge lounge. In the Concierge Lounge we had wonderful bartenders/servers. One of them (Li - real name Liping Mao from China) made beautiful paper flowers for all of the female guests (with the petals dipped in an essence of butterscotch) which she gave out the second to last night of the cruises.

You can keep the Serenade and I'll take the Anthem/Quantum class anytime of the day. So much more to do on both the Quantum & Oasis class. Too bad they got rid of the DD on the Anthem.

If you see them offering a drink card, please let us know what day it was offered and the cost. Thanks!

 

I am not sure the days it was offered...as we had purchased the black friday offering of the deluxe drink package with the surf and stream voom package. We would normally not have purchased drink pkg as we are diamond and are in a suite so we have lots of freebie drinks. However it was such a great deal that we could not pass up! I know that on the last few days RCCL has offered (including today) 10 drinks for $85.00. :)

The suite concierge is Nadja Durdevic. She is excellent. Here is a link to the current concierges on all the ships. This list is maintained by a cruise critic member with the help of anyone who informs her about changes.

WE are big fans of this ship, we did Izumi on another ship and it was terrible , it was great on all our visits on Navigator. Who is current suite concierge ? The concierge lounge is so much nicer on some of the other ships

 

Izumi has been our fav speciality restaurant thus far....and we have sampled all them including Chef's Table. In fact, we are heading back to Izumi this evening (last day :( )

I will write a more detailed review when I return home, but I would say the Main Dining Room ( only ate there on the 2 formal nights), was way above the dining room on the Oasis, both for food and service. And realizing that food is subjective, I would even say that the speciality dining is a cut above what we experienced on the Oasis last year and the Serenade in the summer of 2015.

We're sailing in 9 days, and looking forward. What shows/entertainment have you attended or planned in coming days. Where is the D lounge located as we have not been on a Voyager class in many a year.

 

Ok...I was very surprised at the quality of entertainment! :). I had my sights set low after being on the Oasis a couple of times. Wow! I could not have been more wrong! Please do not miss Piano Man David Curtis Mutter at the Schooner Bar! WOW!

ALso Do not miss "THOSE GUYS"! WOW! Also I do not know the name of the comedian-magician....but he was amazing! WOW!!! The hypnotist was the only show that did not wow me.

 

Overall, I have been extremely impressed with the entertainment onboard. And Yeah, Cuddy the cruise director is pretty funny!

Can you please verify if they are offering luggage valet? I have seen a recent report that they did not have it but I am hoping this changes before our cruise on March 31!!

 

I do not believe they are. Nadja the suite concierge did not offer it. They do have escorted suite service departure but she also let me know that because RC lady does not own the terminal in Miami ( like our previous departures off the oasis in ft lauderdale in which RCcl owns terminal that she can not accompany us all the way into terminal. I will post later re: our experience

We are going on NOTS in March, last minute! What other shows were in main theater? I checked the cruise planner, no shows listed, dont know if it is too late or can you not make reservations in advance?

Glad to hear a positive review of the Navigator!! :)

 

My question is regarding the deluxe drink package.

 

Just curious if you had to pay extra for any cocktails, martini's, etc?

 

Also, any drinks you would recommend?
