I have an AE card which I have never used.....and checked website..NCL is a listed offer....:) My final payment is not due till July..and I have prepaid services charges and UBP .so I assume only way to get the $100 OBC is to make a $500 payment on the cruise ahead of time. :(

Think of it this way - you'll have to pay it anyways, so the payment in July will be $500 less, and you'll have an extra $100 to put on it! Win, win.

It's not $100 of OBC. It is an instant $100 rebate on your Amex card after you spend the $500. It's a no-brainer to pay off $500 for your cruise by April 30 instead of waiting until July.

Sorry...I missed typed.:o..I do know it is a credit on my AE bill and not OBC . And yes...I will be using it to make a $500 payment on the cruise ;)

This is great! Question, so I booked my cruise with a deposit on 2/4/17 (before the amex promo began on 2/10) but if I put a payment of $500 down now, I will get the $100 credit? I did add the offer in my Amex acct. TIA

Yup! My wife and I made payments yesterday on our upcoming cruise. We both received email confirmation from AMEX that we had used the offer. Sweet $200 savings on this cruise!

I have already made final payment. I would like to use the Amex offer to pre-pay the gratuities and maybe purchase more future cruise credits. Do I have to go thru my travel agent? Also, the terms and conditions say not good for onboard purchases. Should I just order OBC and can I pay the grats and fccs from that?

If I was to buy $500 OBC, can I get that as cash at the casino some how?

You can get it as cash at the casino desk but there is an 3% fee.

I have heard there is a way to load obc from your card directly to the machine, so in theory you may be able to do that, cash out and redeem without paying the fee. Not sure about this though.

I am not sure. I remember the last time this offer was around, someone purchased excursions after final payment and got the credit to his AMEX account. Not sure about OBC or pre-paid grats.

I pre-paid gratuities for a cruise earlier this year. It was on a Chase card, not an Amex card. (Did it to meet a new card spending bonus.) It posted as "NCL Reservations USD Miami FL." I think if it posts the same way on Amex it will qualify for the offer. Obviously, a small sample size, but FWIW.

I called to put $500 OBC on my account and received the "Congratulations" email from AMEX. So it looks like it worked. I'll know for sure in a couple of days when the charge goes through. I had to call NCL because no matter what I do, I can't get an OBC purchase to actually take via the website. Really annoying but worth it for $100 :)

Is this how this offer works?? I charged $500 on my AMEX and got an immediate $100 credit to my CC account. I thought I was getting an OBC? Oh well, this is just as good as I already have $800 OBC from my TA.

Yes, that's how it's supposed to work.
