Club Royale - Casino VIP ?'s

Cruise needs to be booked within 30 days of earning the certificate, and valid for one year.

 

It is at the discretion of the agent you speak to at Club Royale. Last time I sailed was September, 2016 and I received a free cruise certificate. I booked only a month ago for a cruise next month and received a complimentary balcony room.

Sometimes it helps if you ask the casino host to rate your play.

I usually spend $2,000 to $3,000 in a week. I've only been on 1 cruise since the time they added me to CR. On that cruise I was awarded $850 in OBC. That was in 2015. I booked that cruise online and didn't even think of calling CR for a rate.

 

In 2016 I booked an ATS for next month (> 1 yr) through CR. I got $12,000 off my booking and got another $2,500 off my SIL/BIL booking (you can get discounts off a second cabin). My wife almost made the cut for CR and they saw what I had spent and granted her CR as well, so we used her membership to get another $2,500 off a 3rd cabin for the adult kids.

 

So now we get Star Suite class (includes drinks, wifi, and much more) for less than 50% of the regular rate.

 

Booking early and using CR has definitely been worth it. So I'm planning on spending $3,000 this time and we'll see how the new program does.

 

BTW - early on they didn't count the tables in your points, but by my second cruise they did. Either way, I play mostly slots. . . Except I hit the tables once on that cruise and won $5,500 on one hand of Let it Ride. Spent $3,000, but walked away $2,500 ahead. I certainly don't expect that to happen again, but you never know.

Hi all, My family and I are going on the Sept !st Alaskan cruise. Explorer of the seas . 40th anniversary and vow renewal. I like Cruise casinos and didn't know they give discounts on cruises away. I wanted to come back and give everyone an update on what I found out when I called Club Royale...

 

 

 

I was told I will still earn my C&A points for cruises booked through the casino even if I'm using a free cruise certificate. Junior Suite and above gets double points.

Good for you. We won a free cruise with bingo years ago and unfortunately were not given any cruise points after talking to numerous people.

Can someone explain to me if your points are based on money in play, why the difference in slots vs video poker (slots = $5 for one point vs video poker $10 for one point)?

Slots have a higher house advantage (lower average payout) than video poker, so slots players earn points faster because the casino is making more money off them.

just came back from the TA Freedom cruise and received 2 cruise certificates

one ( 400 off ) was delivered to my room on day 7 and at the last cruise night I went to the casino host and she gave me another certificate ( 500 off or a free inside room ) and she put a sticker on my card( vip) saying that next time I needed to take my card with me show it to the casino host and ask for free drinks and no fee when I ask for money from my account. I have been reading previous posts but still am confused and hope someone can help me

will I stay a casino royal vip member for ever ?

was there a mistake not adding the sticker on day 7 ? ( not that I care about the free drinks but not paying a fee would have been handy )

is it normal that you get 2 certificates in one week ? ( one has been written the other is printed )

where can I find casino rates ? I work with a travel agent in the US and always check rates online on the RCI website but do I need to check another website searching for 2 new cruises as I understand casino rates are cheaper ?

I understand I have one month to book those cruises ( I already have booked 2 but they are both in 2019 so probably too late to apply these certificates ) so I would love to see what I need to do with these certificates

( I lost a lot so they were a nice surprise :o )

Your VIP status is always based on your last cruise. Since you were given a certificate on your recent cruise, you'll automatically have VIP status on your next cruise. If the sticker isn't on your seapass when you board, ask the casino host for it on your first casino visit. You'll be eligible for free cash advances on your seapass card and free drinks in the casino.

 

Only one of your certificates are good. ..the last one you're given. Sometimes you'll get a better one on the last night if you've gambled a lot since receiving your first one.

 

Call Casino Royale and ask if you can use the certificate on your next cruise. Usually it has to be within a year but they sometimes make exceptions. They're also the place to call for casino rates.

I was a Casino VIP on my last cruise. I had purchased the drink package in advance and once I realized I had free casino drinks I thought, darn I wish I would have know that and I would not have purchased the drink package as most of my drinks are consumed in the casino. I wondered to myself if they were more willing to give you VIP status if you had the drink package as they really aren't giving you very much other than that? Any thoughts on that? I am going on a cruise this week and called ahead to see if I was VIP this time, I found it interesting they could not tell me in advance which put me back in the same dilemma, do I save money and order the drink package in advance in case I am not VIP or wait and see if I am once I board? I find it odd they can't tell me in advance if I am VIP or not.

I've been a casino VIP on my last 10 cruises and never buy the drink package because I too do most of my drinking in the casino.

 

VIP status is strictly based on your casino activity. Did you receive any type of certificate after your last cruise? Any idea if you gambled as much as your previous cruise? If the answer is yes, you should be VIP on your next cruise.

But, I thought to "maintain" your status, you had to have at least 1000 points. I had 500+ on my last cruise but was not given a sticker.

A number of months ago when I called CR for something (can’t remember why at the moment) the Rep told me that if you earn any certificate at all then you retain your VIP status. Of course, as we all know, inconsistency is the watchword with Royal so who knows if that’s still “the rule”.

Curious to know if anyone knows whether we will still qualify for Club Royale VIP perks?? We were enrolled in Club Royale on a cruise in October of 2015 - cruised again March of 2016 - with same VIP sticker that entitled us to free drinks + 5% fee waived. Prior to this we were Plantinum Mlife members, so we automatically got this.

We booked a cruise (for Jan 2018) through the casino department and was wondering if we'll be classified as VIP or if we need to accumulate points to get the free drinks & 5% fee waived again - debating whether we should purchase a drink package since majority of our drinking is done in the casino.

PS - I've read its based on your last cruise and we did receive a certificate, however that was over 18 months ago so just want to double check. =) TIA

my last cruise was a TA a may of 2016. On that cruise I earned a certificate for a free cruise and the club royal VIP sticker during that cruise. I did not use that certificate. I have however used their casino rates for 2 booked cruises right now. I asked the Club royal agent and he said that based on my play I would receive a sticker on my card BUT according to their rules it has to be within one year of the last cruise that you earned it with your play. Since that cruise is 18 months that it was not automatic that i would receive the sticker. He said it will depend on the Casino Host as she makes the ultimate decision. He said I could find a letter in my stateroom to go see the host to receive a sticker and if I dont, to go see her anyways and see if she would make an exception to the 12 month rule. It was at least nice for club royal to explain how it works.

Does anyone have a similar situation where you are past the 12 months and still received the sticker based on the last cruise anyways?

My understanding has always been is you need to have 1000 points on your prior sailing for the sticker.

I just turned Diamond Plus, but seriously considering a change in lines due to Royal's obvious desire to screw

the casino players in any way possible. Two more cruises booked (Oasis and Adventure) in 2018....Then we will see.

Currently on Anthem and just confirmed with the Casino Host, 1000 points is all that's needed for the VIP sticker for free drinks and 5% service fee waived. The 1000 points applies on all ships. Sorry to hear you were misinformed.
