This question has been asked a few times lately, so if you want a preview of the comments arguing about whether people need the Internet whilst on holiday before they get posted here then you should be able to find them by looking down the forum a bit.

Seriously though, if you can find those past discussions then it may help you, as there is the occasional helpful comment amongst the arguing about the Internet.

UBP and SDP -- UBP because we like to imbibe while on vacation and it is worth a little over $600 per person, SDP because we like to eat (too much) while on vacation. The shore excursion thing is almost worthless as $50 per stateroom per port wouldn't cover anything -- have you ever seen an excursion for 1 person that was less than $50, let alone for 4 people! We wouldn't use the internet while on vacation, so that option did not appeal to us.

We always pick the UBP. Although I don't drink that much any more, it still makes the most financial sense. Our bar tab on a 7 night cruise is usually over $900. We're cruising on the 10/26/18 Dawn and the best part is, the service fee was included. Win win!

It's really hard to say without knowing you. We picked UBP and SDP. We are perfectly fine skipping the internet; just connect a couple times in port. We were 2 per cabin so no need for 3rd/4th free. We never book cruise ship shore excursions so wouldn't use the shore excursion credit. If prepaid grats has been offered when we booked we would have taken that over SDP but it wasn't. Just comes down to what appeals to you.

It seems, from a financial perspective, the UBP give you the most bang for your buck. If the 3rd/4th free is offered, and you have the extra people (we have 2 kids), that would come in second. The internet and SDP are sort of tied for 3rd -- depends on whether you need to connect to the internet while at sea. The least "valuable" option seems to be the excursion credit.

We always take the UBP, although we get a drink card from the casino. We enjoy being able to get a drink wherever and whenever we want, without having to go into the casino. Also keeps us out of the casino. We get 2 platinum dinners, and one from the casino (3 total) and we enjoy the mdr for the rest of the nights.

Safe sailing

This year I chose the UBP and the SDP, and while we don't drink heavily it comes in handy for other beverages. Since I upgraded to a aft suite I receive all the promotions. Have the excursion credit and free minutes of Internet also, but the excursion credit is not worth much to me as we arrange our own activities at the ports.

We picked the UBP and the SDP for our upcoming cruise, we typically have a pretty big bar bill at the end and we enjoy some of the specialty dining options so this will work out great for us.

We got the prepaid gratuities and unlimited open bar. Originally we were going to book an interior on the Dawn, but dh did some math and found out that we would actually come out $39 to upgrade to an Ocean View.

Prepaid gratuities was not one of our four choices

Was that a previous promotion or did I miss something?

For us it just made more sense to use the 3-4th free and the SDP. I initially chose the UBP but after crunching the numbers and realizing how much we would have to drink for it to make any sense...it didn't add up. We are not really drinkers and even if we both had 3 a day (which we wouldn't) we would still be paying over $5 per drink due to the $200 tip fee that you get hit with for the "free" UBP.

I booked a 5/21/17 cruise last October in an accessible aft balcony mini-suite. I chose the 3rd/4th free (our adult kids are coming along, yay!) and PCC recommended the prepaid gratuities as our 2nd, she said it was worth the most. We aren't big drinkers, I don't drink alcohol at all (and soda very rarely) and DH likes a glass of wine before bed so will be bringing a bottle of something onboard, and we probably won't bother with the specialty restaurants (except I booked us all into Moderno's one night, which the SDP wouldn't have helped much with). My BIL and SIL, who are on the same cruise, picked the Internet package.

As I'm sure you can see, everyone picks according to what they will use.
