B2B questions

Recommended Posts

After 18 cruises, my husband and I finally booked a B2b on the Oasis for the first two weeks of October. I was hoping for any information offered as to what to expect and how the turn around day goes etc.

A day or two before the end of the first leg of your cruise you will be given detailed procedures for your Turn Around Day. All of ours have been very organized. We've always had a special lunch (limited selections) in the MRD for the B2Bers on TAD. I've also heard this is determined by the number of B2Bers. We've always had the same cabin for both legs of our B2B cruises.

We've found it's a good idea to go down to Guest Services around midway through the first cruise and confirm you are on the B2B list.

Amazingly on our TAD on the Adventure in January we did not have to walk off. We were assembled as requested, they passed out the new sea passes, and then the officer in charge got a call that ICE looked at the manifest and decided we were ok and didn't have to walk off! We had lunch in the MDR. Plesssnt.

We just did a B2B earlier this month on Oasis. There was an informational meeting in Jazz on 4 on Saturday at 10:00 AM. You SHOULD receive the information on this meeting in your cabin prior to the meeting- watch for it. B2b'ers were instructed to meet in the Schooner Bar at 10:30 AM, given their new Sea Passes, escorted off the ship, thru customs and right back on the ship.

As Bob notes above, and us having done 7 or 8 B2B, the best practice is to check with Guest Services earlier in the first week to be sure that they show you as B2B. This will prevent any issues on turn around day. Even tho I did this, and received confirmation, we never received the letter in our cabin confirming the meeting in Jazz on 4. I still had to go to GS to get the information.

Finally, as an aside, we got off the ship to take friends back to MCO at the end of week 1. In our case, I was instructed to go to GS after 6 AM on TOD and get our new sea passes, and an 'IN TRANSIT" card to show to security when we got back. This process worked smoothly. We checked out with our old cards, and got back on with our new cards.

Have fun- we LOVE the B2B

Would it be difficult to do a B2B on two different ships?

I would not say it was difficult, but it was more of a hassle than staying on the same ship.

We did a side-to-side, going on Brilliance for 5 days, then getting on Rhapsody for 7 days. This was in Tampa, so it could not have been easier walking from Terminal 3 to Terminal 2. However, I still would have liked to avoid the packing and unpacking, check-in line, etc.

Totally agree with Bob. If you can't get same cabin for both legs of the cruise your cabin attendant will assist you in moving to your new cabin for the 2nd cruise. We were fortunate and were able to secure the same cabin so it was just a matter of following the procedures previously posted. Enjoy your cruises.

Doing our first B2B on the Harmony in October. Just curious....and guess as to how many people would also do this? Are we talking a few dozen people or a few hundred?

Would vary cruise to cruise. We've been on ships where were are the only two, and others where there are over 200.
