Yacht Club Check-in??

Just booked our first MSC cruise in the yacht club!! I am reading about the perks and it says "priority check in". What does this entail? We cruised Haven last year and it allowed us to show up whenever we wanted (which obviously was as early as possible) to enjoy as much as you could as soon as we could!! Will they give us or allow us to pick a check in time at some point? (We are a little over a year away!)

Yes, as soon as embarkation begins, you'll be one of the first onboard. There is a dedicated Yacht Club entrance at most ports so the set-up will depend on where you're beginning your cruise from. You'll be met by a butler who will either escort you onboard or, if it's too early to board, at least to an area where they serve refreshments while you wait.

Yes as Bea said. Dedicated YC tent, red carpet and sparkling wine while you check in [emoji106] it's a pleasure to board :D

Just be sure to NOT let the regular porters take your bags from you. There will be special porters at the YC White Tent to take your bags. After having this check in, we are so spoiled when traveling another line and have to be processed with the masses.;p Enjoy your cruise.

Is that how it is at Miami? A current review talked about porters taking bags before YC tent area.

That's the way it was the last time we were there. I remember one porter tried to take our bags and we told him we were in the yacht club. Then another porter came from next to the tent to take our bags. Maybe we get bags sooner. Probably no big deal unless they tag them for YC. Maybe others will share their experiences.

Do not drop off bags until you are at the tent, then be sure the porter knows you are YC. In Miami they will sit your bag next to the tent and when you check in they will place another tag on the bag that identifies it as YC. Then the bag goes on the ship.

Off topic but still tips for YC. LeMuse will be open for lunch. You can also be escorted off at ports by butler. You will be asked to tell maitre de dinning time request Be sure to check out snacks in Top Sail and One Pool area. Prepare to be pampered. :D:cool:

Don't forget to ask for Gelato at the One Pool & Bar. I remember having the most delicious Mango Gelato there. The butlers in the Top Sail will remember what you like to drink no matter what time of day. They knew to bring us our Americano Coffee with hot milk in the morning. The Italian coffee is delicious but a little on the strong side for us. ;)After dinner drinks were usually Amaretto on the rocks or Lemon-cello. Before dinner we would have something like Aperol Spritzer or Kir Royal.or Cosmo (the ladies) Feel to just ask away if you have any more questions.

This is a great post. We too have booked our first MSC cruise and chose the Yacht Club Deluxe balcony cabin.

I just got my Loyalty match Gold card number (I was hoping for black but I guess they don't match that high up).

Thanks for all the tips. I look forward to seeing more.

Bon Voyage

The loyalty match depends on the highest level you are with the other lines. I used our four star with HAL and got black level.

So, you set your dining time once onboard? Is it the same time every night?

They will ask you to pick a time for dinner at the Concierge desk but you do not have to dine at that time every night. They do appreciate you coming at the set time because they will hold "your" table for you but for the past few YC cruises we have altered our dining time especially during port days and they were able to accommodate us just usually at a different table.

You will also be asked at the concierge desk what newspaper you want delivered to your suite daily!

Thanks. For summer cruises, we like late seating times so we can maximize the day. What would they consider "late seating?" 8:30?

They like for you to come at the same time as much as possible. We have been 10-15 minutes late and they still held our table. If you want to change time, just let the concierge notify the dining room. Or if you don't want to eat there, by all means let them know you won't be there. We have seen folks waiting for a table when we left the dining room.

I don't want to Hijack this thread but,;p;p,

I try my best to pack my bags so that I can avoid on-board pressing....To date I've failed on every cruise....

What is the procedure in the YC to get your formal wear pressed in time for the first Gala night?

Your butler will be able to get that done for you 😁 Just ask as soon as you unpack the formal wear.

Ok since you said ask away....a few more YC questions!! Maybe we should rename this thread YC Q&A!!! Haha

1. Ok so it says the minibar in your room is included! I have always threatened my kids with seriosus punishment for even opening a minibar door for fear of being charged $50 for a coke! Haha what should we expect to see in the minibar? (Just so I can be excited haha! It's the small things sometimes!)

2. We are Cabernet drinkers. I have seen a menu on YouTube of the drink menu and didn't see many wines. In fact I don't know if there was a cab on it at all. Do you know how wine works in YC?

3. Our kids will be going with us on this trip. They obviously don't drink!! Lol Do they have drinks for kids that are included as part of the YC or should we look at a drink package for them?

Haha what should we expect to see in the minibar? (Just so I can be excited haha! It's the small things sometimes!) you can ask the butler to stock your preferences of soft drinks and juices There will be some in there as well as beer and liquors. Just let them know what you prefer. And several kinds of snacks.

2. We are Cabernet drinkers. I have seen a menu on YouTube of the drink menu and didn't see many wines. In fact I don't know if there was a cab on it at all. Do you know how wine works in YC? They have a good choice of wines. Just ask.

3. Our kids will be going with us on this trip. They obviously don't drink!! Lol Do they have drinks for kids that are included as part of the YC or should we look at a drink package for them?

. The butlers will see that they have what they want to drink. Just ask. All inclusive in YC. No need for a drink package. Edited by Cruisergal1208

Thanks Cruisergal,

I was hoping it would be just simple request. I was unsure if I should ask my Butler or Steward.

Your butler does have an assistant that helps take care of the cabin but the butler is the one that takes care of any requests. You will see the butlers taking care of folks in the Top Sail and The One Pool. They all work to make sure you have a great experience.

I'm also learning a lot from this thread. I jumped in just so I can find it again. :D

What brand of body wash/shampoo/lotion is in the Yacht Club suites? NCL Haven uses Bvlgari.
