Mystery Charges to SeaPass Card

Recommended Posts

I don't think my Diamond Status has anything to do with minibar charges either. So, just to repeat myself, I was attempting to demonstrate that I am a regular RC cruiser, and have noticed this practice the last few cruises I have taken with RC. If I was Gold, or even a first-time cruiser, I couldn't make that comparison, as I would not have experienced enough cruises with RC yet. Maybe you would have been more comfortable if I had simply said I was a regular RC cruiser. Sorry if I hurt your feelings!

I know what you mean being D+ myself, unfortunately people seem to character assassinate instead of paying more attention to the unscrupulous charges which this thread is about.

Didn't hurt my feelings at all. Just find it strange that people feel the need to mention their status, like it has anything to do with charges to ones account.

Some people who are cruise novices might be taken for a ride with the charges and the person was showing you might have cruised RC 80+ nights and they will still be taken for a mug.

I just read your post. The man was making a reference so you could tell he has cruised a lot with rccl.

Are you always trolling around to pick on someone's post or is this just one you somehow decided to pick on?

Get a life and let the post roll on.

My sentiments exactly.

Loyalty in this sense is a one way street. Not just with crusing but any industry. They want our business and info and shower us with a few trinkets or a % off on some things.

Wait did we not get Manhattan for a few trinkets

Thank you for sharing that your account got hit with some "bad" charges. Also, you are a very kind and patient person. I understood your comparison perfectly. The way you expressed your situation was very helpful.

charges post cruise have been happening to me since 2009. I never called RCI to remove them as I figured it was "their word against mine". I finally got smart, thanks to a suggestion from CC, and only sail with a cash account.

However, the same type of thing has happened on three previous cruises, and just wondered if anyone else has noticed this happening?

Yes, almost every cruise. We have learned the hard way to monitor the changes. With the occurrence so often being the MDR and the mini bar it has made me wonder how often and to what end?

Drats....I was hoping the two bottles of nefarious water (still a tie to the now departed mini bar) were gone as mentioned before...as of July 1st. Maybe not so?

I was actually hoping I could input my charge card for sea pass account again..instead of the hassle of a cash account, but obviously RCI ships are still up to their sneaky habit of charging you for things AFTER you have left the ship.

Looks like I am sticking to my new set up for cash account yet..until they finally stop this scam.

I noticed yesterday when i did my online check in there is a new option for your onboard account "NONE" wonder if that means they will let you pay as you go now

Either means you have a cash account or you will decide at check-in or onboard. Other than the casino, there's no paying cash for things onboard.

That what I thought but with all the other stuff they are or have changed, who knows. But then they could not sneak stuff on your account. Even with a cash account they can still put stuff on your account.

Simple wr have to watch our acounts closely for fake charges, if not your lose their gain. Pretty smart if you think about it. Let see if I can steal from you, if you catch me oh sorry my mistake here is your money back but if you dont catch me my gain. Either way I just move to the next person

Thats about it but i think it is crew who are doing it for their own benefit not RC because it happens on other cruise lines too.

Yep, until enough people catch the "mistake" so that it starts consuming all the CSR time and costs them money, I expect the "mistake" to keep happening.

There are too many steps and too much of it going on to be all crew. Somebody in corporate accounting had to see it. On the other thread about this people have emailed the CEO, i filed a compliant with the state of Fl so corporate is aware. If I had an employee stealing from my customers the would be gone. Cruise ship employess even easier as US labor laws do not apply unless the ship is US flaged

I am starting to agree that corporate must know more which is a little concerning.

Strange how we never see any mistake credits on our bills post cruise just mistake debits.

Same with the "mistake" re-pricings when people look at their booking on the website. They seem to always be in the company's favor.

You ever try to give a company money back? They are not setup to take money back . They take your money and issue refunds. Tell them you want to give them money back they do not know what to do.
