Sleeping off the ship for an overnight stay...

Recommended Posts

This is such an odd question, I doubt that customer service can answer it.

But we have an upcoming cruise where we have an overnight stop in a city where we have relatives. And we may want to spend the evening with them.

For the other O/N's we've done, the message we got was that there was no restriction to be back on board until the final on board time before leaving the port. So it appears that we could spend the night with the relatives, instead of in our cabin.

Any thoughts on that?

The only negative might be if it's a tender port like Cabo where the ship has to pull anchor, go out to sea and come back in the next morning.

Sometimes, wind and/or sea conditions don't let the ship come back into port.

It's not a tender port, so that's not it.

Thanks, all- confirmed what I thought was applicable.

During overnight stays, the ship is open to come & go as you please. Although this isn't necessary, you might inform GR that you will be with friends that evening.

Don't quite know what Guest Services is going to do with the information. The only thing that matters to the ship's crew is whether you are on or off the ship and they already know that.
