Get Away from the Crowds Spots on Silhouette?

Hi there -

We're booked for our first cruise on Silhouette, moving over from Oasis Class as we downgrade ship size and hopefully upgrade in other areas.

We were pretty good (thanks to CC) at finding spaces away from the crowd, other than or balcony, to read and/or just enjoy the beautiful weather and a view of the ocean.

Any locations like these on the Silhouette? Any other "get away from the crowds" secret spots?

Thank you!

Here are some spots on Silhouette that can be quiet at certain times of day. There is comfortable seating on Deck Three between the customer Service on one side and the Excursions desk on the other side. This is especially true when the Excursions Deck is closed and not much is going on at Customer Service. You can't guarantee that it will be quiet exactly when you want it. For example at ten AM, quite a few people gather there because the daily printed newspapers in various languages are put out on racks.

Deck Nine has a card and game playing area, but that can be a quiet place if no one is playing cards or games. Deck Ten has the library which can be quiet but if a band is playing on Deck Three usually in the evening, you will plainly hear the band both on Deck Nine Card Room and the Deck Ten Library.

The Sky Lounge can be quiet at certain times of the day. Check it out and its spectacular view.

Not much happens during the day in the comfortable Ensemble Lounge on Deck Five outside Murano.

I hope you like Silhouette as much as I do.

Walk around, explore, and find a spot. Too many factors to consider. If it is raining than you will find a lot of places on the open deck and not so many in the inside areas.

Port days are different than sea days.

Our joke was it always seem that when we went to a bar that was deserted the BT would say how dead it was. We would say watch what happens. We would sit down and then for whatever reason it became very busy.

One night we were on the top deck of a ship. No one around. We randomly picked out two loungers near a rail to gaze at the sky and look out across the sea and enjoy the peaceful night. Another couple appeared and then stood in front of us along the rail. The whole deck was empty but they had to stand in front of us, smoke (smoking was allowed everywhere) and carry on a loud conversation.

Stand and look up toward the sky and see how many will stop and look in the same direction.

If you are in a quite spot they will come and expect them to be loud and rowdy.

Good luck

Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌞

Decks 7 & 8 have the Hideaway, quiet place to read, listen to music from the Atrium, and there is a coffee machine from about 8:80 am. Above it is the card room, and then the library on 10-11. No outside views, but we liked it. EM

Couple of thoughts....

Aqua Club area. Depending how one is wired up this may be of interest to you. DW enjoys sleeping in, not me, especially with jet lag. Great place to hang out in the morning, enjoy your coffee, and watch the world go 'round. Of course, many other places on the ship will be just as unoccupied at that time of the day.

Perimeter outside area on deck six. IIRC, some chairs and loungers find their way to some areas that are wide enough to accommodate both loungers and through traffic.

And there is always deck 13. Surprisingly, on both the M-class and S-class ships, there is always plenty of undisturbed space anywhere and anytime on this deck. :)

Best,

OHP

Hideaway often gets children playing on the furniture,..but can be quiet at times..We like our balcony and upper outside decks away from busy pool decks

The whole ship will be much less crowded and busy than Oasis...too big for us!

I have been on most Celebrity ships and have never seen a Aqua Club area. What are your referring to?
