Just received an email from Royal for a free stateroom on upcoming October sailings all going to western Caribbean. It seems like they are not selling like they want to. Unfortunately I can’t make it due to another cruise

We also received a free CARNIVAL cruise choices were two sailings for next week, due to the fact my husband has a business conference we had to decline, I am on another free cruise due to a casino offer that he got on the Harmony last may and going on the Oasis at the end of October, but its true, many people have been cancelling, they not happy missing the ports that they wanted to go to.

Totally free? Wondering what the conditions were, i.e., was one person free but you had to pay for the other?

I got the same email. Here's the fine print:

Offer provides one complimentary double occupancy cruise-only stateroom for the ship(s) and sail date(s) (the "Qualifying Sailings") and stateroom category(ies) described above but only for the person named in this communication (the "Recipient") plus up to one guest to share the stateroom. Any other charges such as air transfers, specialty restaurants, onboard purchases, and any other items not included in the cruise fare are your responsibility. Offer applies only to NEW individual bookings made by residents of the fifty states of the United States. Offer is not transferable, is not combinable with any other offer (including casino rebates), and is subject to availability at the time of booking. The Recipient may choose a lower category stateroom on a qualifying sailing but shall forfeit any amounts reflecting the difference in value between the Offer Value and the cost of the lower category stateroom. All charges other than the cruisefare for the stateroom provided, including but not limited to charges for airfare, gratuities, taxes or fees or any items not included in the standard cruisefare costs, are the responsibility of Recipient. No email says you and 1 guest will receive a complimentary cruise on select dates. My husband just received his. He has 9 choices to choose from and I have 5

So is this a "free" cruise because you lost $1k+ on the last cruise in the casino and they hope you'll do it again? :D

 

But in all seriousness as a business the only reason they'd do this is if they thought they'd earn revenue in excess of the food & overhead costs from it...
