CAS / Total Rewards Discount

Quick question and if it has been asked before, I apologize. I haven't found anything that addresses this specific question.

I'm a Platinum Total Rewards member that comes with a 20% discount when booked through NCL Casino Booking / CAS directly. If I want to purchase a Cruise Next Cert and book while on board in order to get the bonus offer for booking on board, can I still obtain the 20% discount offered through Total Rewards / CAS if I book on board? Or is that discount ONLY available when booking through the CAS 800 number?

Total Rewards platinum members only receive 10% discount. You must book with CAS to receive the discount.

If you're a fairly big gambler while on board that first cruise, just call the casinos at sea number when you get back and they'll most likely comp you a free cruise. My first NCL was a free one from a land casino. Then i called and they gave me 2 free 1 week Mediterranean cruises back to back the next year. That was more than 2 years ago and I called yesterday and they gave me a 1 week cruise from Spain for next summer in a balcony cabin. Just need to pay the taxes and fees.

No you cannot book onboard, there is a dedicated phone # for TR discounts. The onboard crew cannot see your Total Rewards tier. Here is the phone #. 877-742-9519

As an FYI, you can now use total rewards gift cards for your onboard spending, details are on the TR alliance website.

I know the 800 number and that's not really my question. My question was, is there a way to book while on board using the TR discount AND Cruise Next Ultimate to get the additional bonus for booking onboard during a current sailing.

The CNU gives you an additional choice when you book your cruise while onboard a current sailing and that's what I'm trying to figure out... To combine with TR Diamond discount.

Maybe ask the casino host onboard or the cruise next consultant. I usually don't book til I get home because like others have said, my CAS discount is more than my diamond 20% from Total Rewards. You could possibly pay for the extra perk you're hoping to get with what you save from booking through CAS instead of settling for the 20% off.

If you can, that would be good to know...I am also Diamond and that 20% is definitely a nice perk (and I don't get that kind of discount from CAS), but it would be nice to combine that with the CruiseNext cert as well as any onboard booking perk!

There is no way to stack an Ultimate promo on top of a CAS booking or vice versa.... 2 different programs

  • 1 month later...

I was just on Escape last week and posed this question to the Cruise Next team. Actually, there is a way. They said I could book on board and receive the free ultimate upgrade which right is a a category upgrade to the best available within the room type. The reservation would revert back to my original TA/booking agent which in my case was through the Total Rewards discount program... and once back on land, I could call Total Rewards/NCL to have my reservation rebooked with the appropriate discount AND still keep the upgraded room category.

I booked a CAS cruise once while I was on the Breakaway. I had just purchased some cruise next deposits and wanted to book a cruise but unfortunately the cruise next team can not book CAS. They were very helpful though and called up CAS for me and let me book it through there phone and just confirmed my purchase of cruise next deposits so I could use one right away. Not sure about how the Ultimate thing would work though.

Yes,,,, but you lose out on the potential the CAS would comp your cruise once they see how your play is on the ship. CAS is not looking for the biggest spenders, or the most points. They are looking for steady play (a couple of hours a day) in the casino throughout your cruise. Hours of play is more important that $$$ when computing theoreticals for your next cruise.

That is PARTIALLY correct. After all, somebody that plays for many, many hours a day but only bets $.25 per spin is not that valuable.

I do agree that hours are a factor. But, they also add in the $$ bet. What they do not tend to like is somebody betting REAL HIGH, but only for an hour or less.

Total dollars bet is the most valuable factor. But, as you mentioned, over many hours.
