There is no Drink of the Day today. so we just made one up: Pruna Colada: Bacardi Gold Rum, Bacardi Coco Coconut Rum, Pineapple Juice, Coconut Cream and Prune Juice with a prune garnish. You can add a splash of Kaopectate for an extra $1.00. A favorite of our regulars who want to remain regular, the Pruna Colada was created this morning due to overwhelming demand to keep the Drink of the Day series alive.

As I mentioned earlier, this is a family trip. We're a little bummed that we're going to miss "Family Balloon Twisting." It's scheduled too close to our dinner in Taste. We considered trying to go for the beginning of the session, but what if we only get half way through learning to make a balloon dog? No one wants to brag about their skill in making a dog balloon - but only the head part.

One of the nicest things about Harvest Caye is that your ship docks there, The ability to walk-off and walk-on is a big advantage. As far as I know, the only other private island that allows for docking is Disney's Castaway Cay.

.

Actually, you can also walk off at Labadee

AlexandNessa and I have reservations for "Escape The Big Top" tonight at 8:30 PM in the Supper Club. When we wera doing the Eastern Caribbean itinerary, there were some afternoon ETBTs, but we only get two evening events on the revised Western trip. There are usually around 8 people on an ETBT team, but my wife, her brother (AlexandNessa's husband) and my father-in-law weren't particularly interested in an escape room game. Their loss. Sure, it's not as exciting or glamorous as "Family Balloon Twisting," but I'm sure it will be three rings worth of fun. (Unless we lose. Then it will be an odious waste of time, not unlike cleaning up after the elephants.)

Since there are just two of us interested, my DSIL has enlisted some of "her people" to fill our clown car. (Might "troupe" or "escapologists" have been a better choice? - Ed.)

Neither one of us has ever done an escape room before. Rather than be unprepared, I thought it might be best to read up on some tips before we left home. There's a fair amount of information out there, and a lot of it says that "alcohol and escape rooms don't mix."

That's disconcerting on so many levels. The game is at 8:30 PM. That means that we may have had a tipple or ten before we even start. My hypothesis is that a little thinking juice is bound to help lubricate the problem solving wheels. It is, however, quite possible that we'll have had too much puzzle nectar by the time "Escape The Big Top" kicks off.

Is Labadee a standalone private island, or a private port area on on Haiti? If it's a private island, I stand corrected. Thanks!
Your Department of Research was correct. Labadee is not an island but you can walk off there. It is a peninsula in Haiti.

Loving the review and reliving ng our cruise a few weeks ago. Glad you enjoy DJ's. My DW loved snuggling with the sloth as well, to which I told her that I was a s cute and snuggly and hairy and slow but without the claws...

Right about now...

Huskerchick continues her quest with Mr. Worldwide on the left. Bourbon rocks on the right. (Surprise!)

Curious, what has your go-to bourbon been on the ship?

Thank you for the extremely fun morning Read! I have a friend from work on your cruise and hopped on to see if the storms had caused any problems with the cruise. So glad I did! We will be on the Escape for the 2nd time in Feb.

If you enjoy specialty coffee's as I do love a Baileys coffee order your coffee and a shot of Baileys on the side and it's included in the UDP.

I know you said you don't like sugary but might I suggest a Raspberry Guava mojito from Sugar Cane, they are so delicious! Enjoy! Can't wait to read more

I'm going to take some shots of Bailey's back to my room for my morning coffee in the room on the balcony in the morning. I will make sure to try the Mojito in Sugar Cane! See you on board AZ!

Ohh that's a great idea! I go to the casino in the morning for coffee and sometimes the servers are had to find hmm guess I'll just bring my own! Oh on our last cruise my favorite drink ended up being a Miami vice, strawberry daiquiri on the bottom pina coloda in the middle and blue curaçao on top, very patriotic drink that makes the colada not so sweet. ;)

Ughhh. My first NCL is coming up in January. I may just have to budget the extra for some Knob Creek.

Really enjoying the review!!!

I'll see if I can get the price differential for you.

Rejected Campaign: “Escape from the Planet of the Apes”

The third, and thankfully final rejected concept was “Escape from the Planet of the Apes.” Some genius thought that this might be good because the latest installment of the reboot, “War for the Planet of the Apes” recently did decent box office and got a 94% (Certified Fresh!) from Rotten Tomatoes.

That thinking was faulty. There is simply no way that the 1971 film, third in the original series, is relevant to today’s audiences. Our focus group mostly said, “????” when we presented the concept. But the graphics people did the work, so now you have to look at it. Sorry.

It was based on the original movie poster from 1971.
