Honestly ~ I tried Haggis at a pub in Edinburgh and LOVED IT! Haggis has a very similar taste to a local dish we have in Lafayette Louisiana ~ a "sausage" called BOUDIN. The main difference, IMO, is that haggis is made with oats and boudin is made with rice. ;) Also, boudin is a bit spicier.
Boudin. Rice and meat bits cooked in a casing instead of a sheep's stomach. ;)

They have a Tapas restaurant on the NCL Sun ~ Las Ramblas. It's free. Not a huge selection to choose from, though.

one of the reasons I love the Sun. The only problem there are hardly ever anyone or many people there in the late afternoon just before dinner time and yes, you are right, not a great selection: I still love it.

Perhaps a Greek/Mediterranean restaurant would be a fresh take.

OPA

This would be good I love Lebanese food and Greek they both go hand in hand.

Many contain items that are the same and not expensive.

Madero was not very good tried it a couple times most of the meat I did not enjoy.

I also am sick of Asian food on ships.

Mexican is ok but see it everywhere.

BBQ which is very difficult to pull off. I have a feeling if they did this it would taste like over done Sonny's BBQ.

I vote for something like Food Republic only make it a true sports bar.

Charge for the food (which will need to more upscale than O'Sheehan's), craft beers and show all of the sports that are often begged for to be shown (and often do not have available) in bars on the ships. Especially when there are championship games on, though there is always some type of sport that people want to watch. It would free up the other bars for other cruisers that are not sports fans.

This would be for the large amount of sports fans worldwide so there will always be customers.

They would make a mint.

JMHO. :)

I can see it now people next to the bar Cagney eating a not so peaceful meal as folks are cheering on soccer and rugby ????

They will never get the sports down right on any ship.

I would love a Spanish Restaurant with Tapas in the afternoon/early evening and a formal dinner later.

Tapas, Fusion, seafood, sushi, all way over done too much of that stuff on the seas. And on land I see them all shutting down and reopening in Sarasota all the time.

I would love that...The salad bar could become a Mezze section. If they went just a bit west with some cuisine choices they could add some Moroccan tangines.

I am with you been eating this stuff most of my wife and it never gets old many variety.

My wife is Greek her grandfather owned a restaurant in Greek town Detroit.

I am Italian/German with no conflict

I vote for a teahouse. Finger sandwiches and fancy pastries that are more upscale than other places on the ship. Specialty coffees and teas. All these things are sprinkled around the ships but a dedicated venue for this type of meal would be great.

Was it the old Hellas? We miss that place.

Now, I’m hungry for beets and garlic sauce. If NCL ever put that on any menu, I would be socially unacceptable on any ship elevator.

I hear you on the elevator thing lol.

No it was not Hellas his was one of the smaller restaurants it was bought by folks from the middle east. Now the whole area as you know is surrounded by Casinos and cheep food. I miss the old school Greek town.

I used to live in your area Grosse Pointe and a few areas around it I have been gone for 12 years how is it over there now?

You would not recognize Detroit downtown. Actually it is now vibrant at night.

We’re just across the “DMZ” in the Park. On the other side of the DMZ the first seeds of a Corktown type renewal seem to be planted. Whether they flourish is another question.

That would be interesting and fun. I wonder though, if they do close Modernos will they want to replace it with a upscale restaurant to bring in more revenue? If so, a lot of these ideas we are all throwing around won't work.

This is a neat idea in general, but I don't think it's a fit for NCL's demo.

This just in from Poll Headquarters -

The poll is predicting an overwhelming mandate for MEXICAN fare !

"Los Lobo's" is the leading Mexican restaurant by early returns.

While Los Lobo's is only on the NCL DAWN for the present it should

not take long for NCL to get the retrofitting/conversion of other ships

in the fleet to this popular venue !

There being no absentee ballots - things should not change remarkably !

Now back to other subtle issues trying to skewer the poll in another direction !

Do I have any offers for a Russian restaurant ? LOL !

Replace Moderno’s? I hope not. We just finished a TA on Norwegian Getaway & the nights we ate at Moderno Churrascarias it was full. There are still a lot of cruisers (like me) who enjoy a taste of the different kinds of meat they offer. Their salad bar is fine, too. So I hope they don’t get rid of Moderno’s, although Cagney’s is definitely more popular.

Being a native New Yorker with international choice of cuisine all across town, we just did our complimentary Moderno dinner for 2, plus 3 paying guests on the Breakaway ... and it was a wonderful experience that last longer than we've planned. Yes, it was full of fellow passengers enjoying & having a good time ... and, a better value for dollars spent - especially if come in hungry & aren't on a diet, LOL.

Margaritaville upstairs being a waste as a surcharge venue and should go first.
