We will be on the Liberty of the Seas ship starting Christmas Eve.

 

Does anyone know the details about the Catholic Masses onboard the ship for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day?

Not sure about RCL but for sure Holland America has daily Catholic Mass on all ships including Christmas.

If a priest is on your sailing and he 'volunteers" his time it would be posted on the "board" by the customer service desk.

 

A time and location will be there also.

 

On our 8 cruises, never had the opportunity to do this.

 

Either no priest, or they selected not to do.

Royal will try to have religious services on Christmas and Easter, but not guaranteed.

Sometimes there is a passenger that can lead a catholic service but no communion.

Some times a member of the staff will lead a non denominational service.

 

On our Christmas cruise, the captain actually lead a Christmas day service .

When we sailed on the Oasis Easter '16, there was a catholic Priest on board and held services in the Music Hall. surprised by the number of Pax that attended.

We were on Oasis Easter 17 and there was also a priest on board. There was mass every day leading up to Easter Sunday.

 

The priest was retired and was contacted by Royal to join the cruise for Easter.

RCI is a member of the Apostleship of the Sea, so they will normally have a priest on board for the holy days.

That's true. We were on an Easter cruise a few years back (don't remember which ship). We happened to meet a monsignor and the cruise director at one of the shows & asked about an Easter mass. We told the cruise director that our mother was very elderly & couldn't attend the mass at an early hour, but asked if they could broadcast it on their TV network so she could participate from our cabin. He said he'd see what he could do. Sure enough, we got a call from him & they actually did that!

There was a Catholic Mass on Anthem every morning on the 12/2/17-12/14/17 cruise at 8 am. It was posted in the Cruise Compass. It was held in the Theater. Whether there is a mass depends on if there is a priest onboard.

On Harmony now. Mass is scheduled today, Christmas Eve at 8am in Dazzles. Wouldn't be surprised if we have the same every morning at 8am schedule.

Currently on Indy. There is daily Mass at 8am, Christmas Eve Mass tonight at midnight, Christmas Day Mass tomorrow Dec. 25 at 8am and Christmas non denominational service Dec. 25 at 9am.

On Explorer out of Bayonne a few years back Catholic priest misplaced his passport and was denied boarding. Managed to locate it later but ship had sailed. Royal flew him to San Juan where he caught up to us Christmas day. Said Christmas mass in packed theater at 10pm.
