When do upsell offers usually begin?

We are about one week after final payment and there looks like there is a ton of balconies available. I know complementary upgrades do not come around to often so I am wondering… When do upsells usually begin?

My recent upsells were sent to my TA about 6 weeks prior my cruises.

Just received one for a Feb 8th cruise.

Just took one last week for our Jan. 29 ten day Caribbean on Royal. $169 to move from inside to balcony.

But don't give up. Our upsell offer came just five days before our cruise earlier this month. There was a recent upsell thread here where others reported being offered an upsell from their minisuite to a suite on our cruise more than a month earlier. I guess they then moved down to give the offer to those of us booked in balcony cabins when not enough of the minisuite people wanted to take the upsell.

Keep in mind that there are an unknown number of guarantees awaiting a cabin. The ship could be much fuller than you think

Our last upsell offer came 1 day after final payment. That is the earliest we have received one. The latest was a couple of weeks before the cruise.

Thank you all. Still waiting to see what happens. We are perfectly fine with the cabin that we have now but I would love to move to a Caribe balcony if the price is right.

Sailing Feb. 18 upgrade offer came Dec. 7. I'm also sailing Feb. 23 and that offer came Dec. 18.:D

That's close to our cruise date so maybe their won't be any offers for us. May I ask what your upsell was?
