Arrive FLL and took cab to Riverside Hotel. Driver took us all over and thought he was padding the fare. But realized he was incompatent. He said he had not heard of it, told him it was 90 years old. Next morning Got to pier with no line at 11:25 am. Through security and greeted by Medallion person who called us by the wrong names. Entered Medallion line. Was next in line. 35 minutes later was done. gen pop line moved faster. Gal took way too long to do things. Entered all info on I pad. She was not proficient with this. Went through health questions several times. Handed her the paper copies they made us fill out. She said we had to enter it on her pad. She then tried to take pictures of our passports. Another mess. She left with our passports and came back with our cards. The cards had other peoples names on them. So we started over. We received our medallions in the mail at home.

Medallions do not work at cabin doors. One out of the 8 bars I've been to medallion worked.

Dinner first night was a problem. We have anytime dining. It starts at 7:45. We got in long line at 7:45. Got to door 30 minutes later. We're told dining room was full. Obviously it wasn't. Think they save many tables for C C. Was then told to go to other dining room as they had room. Got there and staff was upset because they had no room. Was given a beeper and told to wait 30 minutes. Returned, and we're told to be patient. 65 minutes later wife returned and asked how much longer. We're then ushered back to original dining room. Had to order right away as kitchen was closing. By then we didn't care. Second night did wine pairing dinner. Quite fun with a room for 12 and unlimited wine.

Next five days port intensive, so probably won't be back here for awhile.

Thank you for the update.

Am following along to hear about the Ocean Medallion progress. Disappointed that it seems they haven’t made much progress in that the ***** can’t work to open your cabin door. I think it worked for some passengers on prior cruises. But since not for you...seems they have to figure out the bugs still.

Sorry your first night dinner was so unorganized. The wine pairing dinner is fun! We did the Winemakers Dinner on our last cruise on the Regal. Good food and wine!

Internet is adequately fast. Wife is using ap called social ocean to chat with kids at home. It uses Facebook messenger. Have to go feed wife as she acquired some wine and thinks I'm funny. I'm using I pad in room for internet.

TV- At least 10 episodes of Love Boat

Casino- if you have comp credits from prior sailings, bring a copy with .

They act as if they have never heard of such a thing.

Shows- missed first night. Tonight was soul version of the three tenors.

High energy, must see live. Uptown! Last night comedian, Robbie Printz. Excellent. Not your normal cruise ship banter.

Dinner- Lines for anytime dining terrible. Most are making reservations and nothing seems to work.

Happy hours- get there early. Staff assembles at bar that features the discount. They do not serve anyone there until time as they think everyone there is cheap. When the time hits, about a dozen waiters descend on the waiting crowd.

Piazza bands- excellent. As is piano entertainer at Crooners.

Buffet beverages- make sure you make eye contact with server before you sit down. If seated and are eating, they do not ask if you want anything until you are finished. Outdoor aft has seating, but don't tell anyone. Only place that is open for breakfast.

Cabins- hear more outside noise than ever before.

h-sar is doing play by play on this cruise and I agree with their comments. Internet signal for me seems stronger in cabin than on balcony. ***** must be touched to pad to get cabin door unlocked. Need to boost signal. Great relaxing trip, and can't complain as it is -48degree F wind chill at home today. Happy N Y.

Hi, mrbucky. Hope you had a great day in hot St. Thomas. We took the ferry to Trunk Bay beach in St. John. Really appreciated the great weather considering that our hometown is going through record lows all week.:DHappy New Years to you and yours. We’ll be ringing in the New Year under the balloon drop :D

There is a section of anytime dining room reserved for "club class" dining. Full suite and club class mini suites (center of ship and a little more expensive) are allowed to eat in club class. The perks of the dining are no waiting and one table side special each night.

Cabin with ***** hit and miss. Piazza is fantastic. beautiful. Food, wine, coffee, booze, and music. Musicians here are great. String trio. Quartet, rock and roll, and anything. Another group, soul, R&B, just plain entertaining. Dancing. People watching.

Back to dining problem. Maitre D called our cabin to explain why dining is such a mess the first four days. Then asked what time we like to dine. He said we will have reservations at that time in Concerto dining room the rest of the voyage. Did not happen. Wife even grabbed the clip board and we were no where to be found. We really enjoy sit down dining. But, most of those we have met have same comment with dining rooms, hectic! Not relaxing. No beef. The best meal other than specialty dining was lunch, embarkation day. Dining room. Quiet, could converse with others, not hurried to turn table. We have been seated three evenings by the door to the galley, traffic, noise. Understandable. Told wife they are getting even with us for asking questions. We have said we are willing to share a table with others, but they say they have a special table for us.

I picked the right team to be on for trivia. they have led us to victory 7 times so far.

***** worked at retreat bar as we were greated by name.
