Thanks for sharing this piece of HAL History! The ad states that "Jet economy class to London cost $210 one way." Just knowing it is $1750 today is a handy grain of salt when reminiscing!

Very interesting. I imagine that was about when airlines started to become a reasonable and dependable way to travel to Europe versus going by ship. Their arguments are good ones -- and I still hear folks use similar ones today for doing a Trans-Atlantic. Unfortunately, modern corporate America is not generous in their policies on paid vacation!
