wendyam76 Posted January 27, 2018 #55 Share Posted January 27, 2018 It was on the bed in our stateroom. Sent from my iPhone using Forums Thank you so much! I had heard that sometimes it was handed out at the lunch but we would prefer to go to the buffet - we always try to board early. Enjoy your cruise! clj7181 Posted January 27, 2018 Author #56 Share Posted January 27, 2018 We decided to explore the ship a bit and get our bearings after dropping off our bags in the room. The Hot Glass show had a sign up and guys were in there dismantling stuff it appears - I will watch and see what happens. The sign is already down and there is a paper up that says after 9 years 7 months and 21 days it needs a break or something to that effect - I forgot to get a picture of it. The MSC Seaside was in front of up - there were 5 ships leaving from Miami today the NCL Escape, Carnival Glory and Vista were also leaving. We grabbed a drink at the sunset bar before heading to the Muster Drill at 2:45. We were in the theater where they played the corny mission impossible video - but I actually did watch it and the cartoon and the hand washing cartoon. Next we headed to the Helipad. We walked around for a few minutes before going there since the invite said 3:30 - but a lot of people were already lined up - you lined up in the port side hallway. They were giving our drinks to everyone. I still see to go through the sail away pictures - it was really windy out there - granted all of Miami has been windy so far - 25 mpg winds with 30 mph gusts according to the weather channel this morning. More to come later. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

clj7181 Posted January 28, 2018 Author #61 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Tonight we ate at Tucson Grille (I forgot to get MDR menu pictures - but the app lists the menus for each day). Overall it was good and I was happy with my food/service. We had a 6:30 reservation and it was pretty quiet in there - we had a table for 2 by the windows. We are eating here a couple times - we did one of the dining packages. Menu Crab cakes - I was half done when I took the picture - I though it was a good crab cake but I also am from Illinois. Entrees - Mom had the fish I had the steak Deserts - mom said the lemon cheesecake is just normal cheesecake with a bit of lemon on top. The picture is of my tiramisu. Now we are waiting in the theatre for the 9 pm show which is a comedian tonight. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
debrajean Posted January 28, 2018 #62 Share Posted January 28, 2018 I see it says long sleeve shirts for men for dinner. I know there has been lots of discussion on this. Did most follow this or did any where short sleeve shirts?
Rare garyl62 Posted January 28, 2018 #63 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Looking forward to following along, you're doing a great job! I love the comment about how great the crab cake was, "but I'm also from Illinois" Ha! being from Illinois I can relate!

Did most follow this or did any where short sleeve shirts? I didn’t notice - I did notice a lot of women in dress pants or dresses. I will watch tonight (evening chic) and tomorrow what the men wore. clj7181 Posted January 28, 2018 Author #67 Share Posted January 28, 2018 It’s 7:40 AM - we are still not in for a 7 AM arrival and I just saw the pilot. I took both of our sea passes down to the cafe on 5 and got mom coffee and me Diet Coke a couple of waters. Not to self - remember to close the balcony door when you leave/enter the room - oops. clj7181 Posted January 28, 2018 Author #68 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Update - there are strong cross winds so they are assessing if we can dock in Key West or not - currently 8 am. Last night we went to the comedian in the theatre - he was average - had a few funny jokes but the pacing felt off. Comedy of course is subjective. gordylad Posted January 28, 2018 #70 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Re.........What's wrong with Spacey? We were on in September and as cruise director he is responsible for getting the acts/live bands. They were pretty poor. I get the feeling he is full of his own self importance. clj7181 Posted January 28, 2018 Author #71 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Following along too. What was the name of the drink with the piece of pineapple on the side? That one looks good. I think I ordered a Pina Colada - the drink my mom ordered was better and had ginger beer in it - I don’t remember what it was called but on the same menu page at the sunset bar. h20cruzer Posted January 28, 2018 #72 Share Posted January 28, 2018 If you want a really good drink head to the Martini bar and ask for Imade, tell him Norma sent you. He will make you anything doesn’t have to be a Martini. Very friendly guy, has been our bartender on several cruises.Norma
clj7181 Posted January 28, 2018 Author #73 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Cross winds are gusting 36 knots - max is 22 knots. Skipping Key West - just made the announcement at 8:38 - they are revising and delivering new dailies - I will post once I have them. Sad - but safety is the most importance. Rare Georgia_Peaches Posted January 28, 2018 #74 Share Posted January 28, 2018 Following. We'll be on Equinox March 31 with a different itinerary. Looking forward to your play by play. Enjoy your vacation! We're on the same cruise! That's is in 61 days. I'm so ready I actually have a mock up of my balcony taped off in my office so I can go to my happy place whenever someone brings me "drama" and "turmoil". Can't wait to read your take on this cruise...it will be our first on the Equinox.
dutchclogs Posted January 28, 2018 #75 Share Posted January 28, 2018 ^^ That is a pity. I know tendering is always a hostage to the weather but did not realise docking could also be relatively sensitive ?
