Discounted "Casino" rates ...explain please

So I am being offered "casino" discounted rates..and I'm talking really discounted...like less than 1/6th of the going rate for a one week cruise. My question is , how do they decide who receives these? I wanted to book this for myself and my friend and her sister. I would have a single room and they would share a double but because she was not offered the cruise rate I could not get her a room for the same price unless I shared a room with them. We were both platinum at the time, and I didn't really gamble in the casino on past cruises. Oh, and btw, this was not an emailed offer. I found it online while looking under deals...even then it wasn't listed as a casino rate...I happened to be onboard and the future cruise person told me it was a casino rate.

I also get a "casino" rate, but I do a limited amount of gambling on board. I'm also surprised that the Future Cruise person was able to offer it to you because I was always told that I had to call in to Princess to get mine and the FC person could not do it while on board. Consider yourself lucky and take advantage of it while it lasts! It's a really good deal I got the offer by chance on my last cruise and I booked a lot of cruises for 2019!

As far as anyone knows...it's randomly decided by a computer.

Interesting that you got it without gambling, tho'.

Hmmmm..upon further investigation hubby says that in the past when he has played let it ride they scan his princess room card. They don't know how much he is betting or if he wins or loses but they do scan it. This has not been very often but obviously enough to qualify for these rates

After swiping his card, they enter in what he bets

We just got off Regal with a similar rate to yours, and I’m still not certain why. I don’t think I’ve ever lost $100 in a ship’s casino , and am now seeing several more cruises at similar prices for March and April. Trying to convince dw to go again...

(I did book one early this morning, still working out details. With Princess insurance, it’s almost a no risk cancellation.)

And I did make sure to go in casino, actually won enough to pay one fare!

When his card is swiped, his position is recorded and the pit boss can alter his average bet above the table minimum if he is consistently betting more each hand.

The table is sensitive and actually counts/tracks every hand played.

The dealer also logs the player out when the player leaves, allowing rather accurate reporting of player activity.

Also, ever notice how players about to leave are asked to "color up" their chips? Yes, part of the reason is so stacks of lower denomination chips remain at the table, while the player has fewer, larger denomination chips to carry away. But... it also gives the pit boss an opportunity to see how much the player is taking away.

these rates are torture for me when i cannot arrange to go. after having to miss a january $99 deal. i have some offers that expire next week for 99 as well. 4 different dates in april/march but my companion cannot get off work and it wouldnt be as fun without her. another 8 nite is only 149. dang these are great deals.

of course airfare to FLL for spring break is astronomical and that eats up some of the savings. but still not a bad deal

for the record ive only been on princess once and doubt i put more than 60 of my own money in a slot. so everyone really should play the slots a bit to see if they can get these great deals. also i missed the email so it pays to check your account logged in every single day! over christmas i had a 500 dollar balcony offer for a 2 week cruise. but i didnt want to go alone. i almost regret not going now for that price.

every day i log into princess with my password and i hit the FLL port and i organize by lowest to highest price cruise. there i find my 99 dollar deal at the top of the list. you can also hit all pricing button and see what other cruises may be cheap on that itinerary.

another hint that there's a deal there this time is i have 10 in my OBC which apparently is part of the offer. i missed an email that did offer me these deals a week ago but if you log in your account every day you wont miss a deal

well , you may. but if it's there you will see it. my guess is these are capacity controlled too but i dont have proof. my guess is they have X rooms at that price then they disappear. ive seen things appear and disappear as well and inventory can change over night.

OK, thanks - now just to be sure we're on the same page, if you, or someone else

could do this and see what the current lowest price cruise is out of Ft Lauderdale, regardless of length, etc.

I'm showing $ 554 for an interior room - 5 day, eastern carib in March, 2018

I signed into my Princess account then searched for a last minute cruise.

I found a balcony, 7 day Regal Princess for $303 PP. we booked. I tried to get the same rate for my niece but was told that this rate was a casino rate exclusive only to me.

We never go to the casino as I can't tolerate the cigarette smell and smoking.

I can't figure why I was offered this rate. But I'm not going to question.

Quick question - how many cruises have you sailed with Princess???

It really is a great deal. I just got off Regal a bit over two weeks ago, but hey with those prices, even the single supplement is easy. So....in six weeks I'm off again. Not all that concerned where the ship is going, just excited to be going on it. The casino credit isn't too shabby either. ;o)

Sixty one cruises on Princess and have drop some change (LOL) in the casino. If you spend a certain amt in the casino, you get an offer for so much off if you book a cruise within usually 30 days after disembarking. BUT there are casino rates that can be gotten either from the future cruise consultant or your TA can call and get it for you. You can not get it by booking it yourself via the website.

My TA just saved me about $1000.00 on the Midnight Sun Norway cruise in August which is an extremely expensive 2 wk cruise. I have gotten that rate on most cruises I take and I cruise solo so it is worth it to inquire.

this week i got the offers. sadly my companion cannot go on the dates they are offered. i can only hope they keep offering last minute deals like these .

They know exactly what he is betting, winning, losing, etc. By scanning his card he is checking in. When he buys in it's recorded and when he leaves it's recorded what he "colors up". While playing they will makes notes of his bets and come up with an average.

As for qualifying for the rates, my daughter received the offer and she said she put a $20 in the slot machine one night on a 7 night cruise 2 years ago. Casinos have a whole marketing system in and of themselves and they look at "theoretical" by wooing a casual player to come back.
