John Heald would you please tell Carnival that we want "Carnival Fare Viewer" back.

I stopped browsing cruises on the Carnival site two or three years ago. I go to my favorite cruise search engine, which I can't mention here, enter my criteria and boom! Every cruise that meets my criteria is listed. I pick two or three that I'm interested in, then go to Carnival to see if they're offering any OBC or upgrades. I pick one and call my PVP. He finds me the best location for my price point. Done.

John Heald said months ago that the fare viewer is not coming back. Let's move on.

Somebody ask him if we can get better TV programing . Or fix it to where everyone can go to the former past guest party again. Also ask about bringing back the farewell party on the last day. Fire him up ,why don't cha :D

I find mock bookings to be better than fare viewer because fareviewer just gives you the base price. It doesn’t include the upgrades for various decks and whatnot which can swing the price significantly.

yes it did

First I do not care if they bring it back or not. However I do object to the OP making it sound like everyone on Cruise Critic wants it back. More and more people think they can get the results they want by making it sound like everyone wants what they want. Sorry no one is allowed to speak for me but me. Of ok guess it is ok if the wife speaks for me.

I agree with you, we stopped using it awhile ago. We do our research on the websites we like and contacted our PVP. We had a great PVP and he was promoted two or three years ago. Since we have bounced between PVPs and have never found one with similar drive. We are thinking on trying a TA in the future.

Not on topic, but how do you get the future sailings to show up in your signature like that? Thanks.

True. That’s how things get sent to John Heald as well. “Everyone on cruise critic wants x.” He’ll run a poll and like 10% want x.

I never used fare viewer because it did not display offers Carnival targeted to me, such as casino fares. If I had relied on fare viewer, I'd have missed some great deals.

We frequently book Military Rate, and it didn't show that rate either. It did work out great when we were booking ES, though.

You will never see the fare viewer again. That made it to easy for people to find when there was a price drop and people took advantage. Someone will quickly say that all you have to do is do a mock booking and you can check for a price drop. You will not be able to find a mock booking if your category is sold out. Using the fare viewer on two cruises there was a drop on cabins listed as sold out. You cannot do that anymore,

Pretty much this. It is also not as important as the OP makes it out to be. There are much more things I'd rather demand

Never said I was worried about anything. No need to worry as Carnival could care less about what their passengers think. Read the name of the thread

I believe fare viewer was also used by at least one major price tracking website because it appears as if the removal of fare viewer completely busted that site's ability to track Carnival prices.

So I am guessing Carnival wasn't a fan of the automated price drop checkers and removed the fare viewer for that reason.

For those that didn't see value in the fare viewer it is probably because you only looked at it from your POV. :)

As it stands now I am not aware of any way to automatically track price drops on an exact category/rate for your cabin and alert you when to act. (btw the S...M..e app doesn't do that level of tracking for those that might mention that)
