Hello All !

I have a quick question for you great Celebrity People !

 

I have wanted to do a Celebrity Cruise for several years. But being Platinum on Carnival and getting Casino Comps From NCL. The Celebrity Cruise Never Happened Yet..Now, I have a chance to do a 7 Day Eastern this summer ON the Equinox..And My Wife Got The Same Great Price and Room Category on MSC SEASIDE ? Which is a BRAND NEW Ship...The question is simple ?

 

Go on the 10 Year old Equinox or The Brand New MSC SEASIDE ?

 

I realize being on the Celebrity Section of CC maybe not be balanced. But I also respect that most of you are mature enough to have an open mind ? Considering I have no Past Guest perks from either line ? Which would you pick ? Both have the same dates and are 7 Night Eastern Cruises ?

I would add that the OP should ensure they're comparing apples to apples including the "perks"/"experiences". From what I've seen, MSC's Aurea experience would be equivalent to X's Go Big (maybe even a Go Better because of free spa treatment)

 

As for the Equinox it may be 10 yrs old, but you'd be hard pressed to tell from the condition it's in. We were on it back in Nov. 2017.

I believe that MSC will grant you comparable level in their loyalty program from another line so you might get some benefits from your Platinum status.

I thought that MSC uses Euros. But I found this online. MSC : Euro (US Dollar for Caribbean, North America, South America, South Africa & Eastbound Transatlantic itineraries)

I have done both lines but have not done MSC Seaside but have gone sister ship to Equinox which was Silhouette.

I hadn’t done a Celebrity cruise in a long time and after my Silhouette cruise I think that I might pay a bit more as Celebrity has all of what I’m looking for lately.

The Solstice class of ships are to me the nicest ship out there right know.

As for MSC have done the Divina and that ship was gorgeous but in no way same level of service and food. In that same matter I would wait out a bit before doing Seaside.

I have been on 7 Celebrity cruises...

I have been on 1 MSC cruise.

 

Simple answer for me

 

MSC was nowhere near the level of service, quality and experience that you will find on Celebrity.

Unless I did the Yacht Club on MSC I probably wouldn't even consider it and yes I have cruised MSC and it was OK. Celebrity is a LOT MORE than OK.

Since you mention Casino Comps, this may be relevant to you: NO SMOKING in the Celebrity Casinos.
