Does Princess Know That We Cruised Another Line?

My girlfriend and I cruised the POA on Norwegian Cruise Lines last summer.

We also did the Regal in October.

Since then they (Princess) have been relentless with email blasts, post cards, brochures, newsletters.

Just wondering if cruise lines share your information and possibly a reciprocal program with their respective marketing departments.

We've also gotten marketing pieces from Oceania and Regent but never sailed them.

It doesn't make business sense for different parent companies to share passenger information - it might even be against privacy laws.

However, if you sail Princess Cruises and especially if you buy a Future Cruise Credit, then expect to see ads coming on a fairly regular basis. And Princess being a Carnival Corporation company you might see some from other Carnival cruise brands - e.g. We've never sailed Cunard but receive mailings fairly often.

Remember, some of these mailings occur just because you've visited or registered on a cruise company's web site. We get Norwegian mailings because of this method of marketing.

I agree that cruise lines are not about to share their customer base with any other cruise line even a fellow Carnival line. We only get email from cruise lines we have cruised on and signed up. However if you have given you name/email to a TA, they do share information and will send you email/snail mail for many different cruise lines. Unfortunately we get information from having dealt with a online TA.

We cruise Princess all of the time and never get a thing from them. On the other hand, Oceania sends us flyers often and we have never sailed with them. We sometimes get Viking mailings and Grand Circle e-mails( we did use O.A.T. for a land tour ~ affiliated company).
