traveltilidrop Posted April 12, 2018 #1 Share Posted April 12, 2018 Royal is currently offering some good deals. Would it be worth waiting until boarding an upcoming cruise next week rather than booking something today? Any additional OBC being offered, for example? VillaHappy Posted April 12, 2018 #2 Share Posted April 12, 2018 Yes. We were able to get $200 OBC on a future cruise, if we booked by day 3 on the Oasis last month.
Clarea Posted April 12, 2018 #3 Share Posted April 12, 2018 If you are willing to book a cruise with a non-refundable deposit, they are offering higher OBC and a discount.
Biker19 Posted April 12, 2018 #4 Share Posted April 12, 2018 Any additional OBC being offered, for example? You are gambling that between now and when you finally book, the price won't go up by more than the $50-100 OBC you'll get booking on board - do you feel lucky? The onboard OBC is the only benefit of booking onboard. The cabin pricing of any future cruise you have in mind will be the same no matter where you book. polymedia Posted April 12, 2018 #7 Share Posted April 12, 2018 This has become totally worthless to me. Both the deal and OBC isn't as much as what I can get from my travel agent, and my TA knows more than onboard cruise counselors as well. The last time I tried to book with them was a totally frustrating experience.

If you know which cruise you want then I don't think it is worthless.
renza Posted April 13, 2018 #9 Share Posted April 13, 2018 Always way more expensive than what I can get it for through my agent. Totally not worth anything. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

I always book through a company that books group cabins therefore u get the cabins cheaper and gratuities are always paid through my agent on royal. Beerbrewingcoffeecat Posted April 13, 2018 #11 Share Posted April 13, 2018 I will always book on board the reason being I always book two years ahead I get a fantastic deal like a big discount + a big OBC ($550) and last time was also up graded to a JS at no extra cost. compman9 Posted April 13, 2018 #12 Share Posted April 13, 2018 There is absolutely no cost saving in relation to what is available on the website You will however get OBC It is also easier to pick your room - we bagged ourselves a Cow Butt Room for an upcoming trip

_linda_ Posted April 13, 2018 #14 Share Posted April 13, 2018 It worked well booking onboard for us as UK residents, as we were given the choice of the UK or US offer for the same booking. The US offer was cheaper and had more OBC so a clear choice. I then transferred it to my TA. Shows how poorly us UKers fair.
