satxdiver Posted April 20, 2018 #26 Share Posted April 20, 2018 Thanks for the heads up. We have two European cruises booked for the summer of 2019 and have been watching for a sale to reduce the astronomical prices. I will be monitoring the prices of course. paul929207 Posted April 20, 2018 #27 Share Posted April 20, 2018 I booked Oct 2019 Med cruise when It opened up in Dec with no OBC or any other perk from Princess. Since this new sale only goes to August 2019 for the Med cruises, I will have to wait for another sale to get the perks. We are in the same position. Hoping the Sip & Sail is behind this and will follow in late June.
Astro Flyer Posted April 20, 2018 Author #28 Share Posted April 20, 2018 (edited) We are in the same position. Hoping the Sip & Sail is behind this and will follow in late June. We’re hopeful that our November 2019 cruise will be included in S+S although for past offers it was only for balcony or higher cabins. So if a 3 for Free offer is available again in early September that’s our best option for our interior cabin. For our future booked cruises in balcony cabins we first booked S+S (got the OBC) and later switched to 3 for Free because in addition to the OBC it added free tips & the offer was valid for all types of cabins. Redwing55 Posted April 20, 2018 #29 Share Posted April 20, 2018 Thanks for the heads up. We have two European cruises booked for the summer of 2019 and have been watching for a sale to reduce the astronomical prices. I will be monitoring the prices of course. We're in the same boat... well, not literally. In a way a feel a bit sorry for our TA, since I suspect better options will surface along the way. But, there is that fear that another similar sale won't come up. So we (she) play the rebooking game until a few months out from the cruise. IF we get lucky, it looks like we'll get $500/pass. for our 14 day. That's some significant coin. I know we'll use some up for tips and Soda/more. But we have other OBC's coming too. I think I know a trick on how to use them, but it may be moot since we may actually book some Princess excursions that will suck up these potential funds. We usually book independent excursions, but DW has a bit of apprehension with using non-Princess in the European region. We'll see.
susiesan Posted April 20, 2018 #30 Share Posted April 20, 2018 I have a reservation for Coral Princess Alaska for June 19, 2019, veranda cabin. Currently I have no OBC, prepaid grats, or anything. I am having my TA check to see if I can get the $250 OBC applied. from the flyer posted it appears that I should.
myfuzzy Posted April 20, 2018 #31 Share Posted April 20, 2018 You have to look at your bottom line. If you booked with no perks at (A) price, this sale offers you OBC, BUT the price of your cabin went up...does the difference warrant you to change your booking. Say your cabin price went up $200, so the difference to change would be $50 would you do it...probably, you are still $50 ahead. Our booking has "free" grats, on 10 nights, thats 135.00 plus we have $50 OBC, for a total of $185, the OBC is $250, difference of $85.00, but we have Casino Cash of almost $1000 we would lose if we rebooked, so we are staying status quo. So make sure the numbers work for you.

As the cruise is not until summer of 2019 I doubt I got a very good rate. $2034 each incl. taxes for a BE balcony for a 7 day cruise seems high compared to what I paid 2 months ago for a premium balcony on the Emerald 14 day Cape Horn cruise. It will be interesting to see what my TA comes back with or what Princess shows online.
Ron the Rev Posted April 20, 2018 #33 Share Posted April 20, 2018 Another sale that is not applicable for UK cruisers. Getting fed up of being treated like second class citizens by Princess and think my cruise in May on Sapphire Princess will be my last Princess cruise. Ditto:(
sexyaznboy Posted April 20, 2018 #34 Share Posted April 20, 2018 Will this be on only some cruises or most cruises? I'm debating whether to book Come Back New sale with included gratuities which is slightly less value than the stated values for an inside cabin. Astro Flyer Posted April 20, 2018 Author #35 Share Posted April 20, 2018 Will this be on only some cruises or most cruises? I'm debating whether to book Come Back New sale with included gratuities which is slightly less value than the stated values for an inside cabin. I've only located the statement that it "includes Summer 2019 sailings to the Americas, Japan, the Caribbean, Alaska, Europe and more". We'll know which cruises are available on 5/1 but hopefully they release a fare chart earlier with specific details. Even if your cruise is included, they add that "this offer has limited space regardless of cabin availability" which in previous offers meant that not all cabins will be available for a promotion. Thus those who book later may not find their cabin available for the promotion's OBC benefit. My TA doesn't charge a fee to rebook a cruise so I book sooner & then if eligible make changes if something better becomes available.
Thrak Posted April 20, 2018 #36 Share Posted April 20, 2018 I tend to book very early and almost always just watch as the price goes up and up. We booked a cruise for late October 2019. I looked yesterday and our cabin is now $500 per person more than we paid. It seems to be a pretty regular occurrence. If the price goes down I will adjust the booking but it almost always seems to just go up and up.

Rare shof515 Posted April 21, 2018 #38 Share Posted April 21, 2018 I noticed for my cruise on October, there is no more cabin available in my category . Depending on the pricing and the on board credit amount, can i switch this promotion?

I wonder where the OP got the info and if it is real or fake news ? Well, being the OP the information I provided was not based on fake news. If you’re dealing with TAs that don’t have any details then maybe consider a new TA. The sale’s terms & conditions and the e-flyer I shared are from an email my TA received a week ago on 4/17/18. The email notification was sent by the Princess VP of North American Sales (John Chernesky) to share with their clients. My great TA gave me the advance notice for this upcoming sale which I shared on CC because others have been seeking the next sale. As I posted, I haven’t found the cruise fares which apparently have not yet be released. If me or anyone else finds the cruise fares & all available cruises then it’ll be posted here. I don’t provide fake news but you have the prerogative to ignore this information. And why would anyone take their valuable time to create a fake news thread...definitely not me!

LOL...nah it’s much more like a pauper than any sort of royalty. ;) It is disheartening to attempt to provide helpful information & to have it referred to as possibly being fake news. C’est la vie...can’t please everyone. ;) Hopefully it’ll be good for your cruise but not having a Summer 2019 cruise it won’t benefit me. Astro Flyer Posted April 25, 2018 Author #50 Share Posted April 25, 2018 I found the voyage list. Thanks Thanks SB :) it looks like my Med Oct 20, 2019 on the new Sky Princess is on the list, maybe I will get Some OBC. Our Sky Princess cruise in November 2019 is surprisingly included in this offer. It’s over a month into Fall so we’re happy that this offer promoted as valid through Summer 2019 will apply to our cruise. :D
