UKPete71 Posted April 25, 2018 Author #53 Share Posted April 25, 2018 We are on the Constellation in August and having only been on 'S' class ships before; I'm wondering what the main differences are apart from size, age and décor? We'll be in Aqua on deck 11 and I'm a bit worried about the noise from the roof top terrace! Are movies and/or music played all day? Any information you can give would be really appreciated. There have been movies played during the day. We haven’t been to see one yet so couldn’t say what the volume is like. The extra set of stairs/elevators has been well received by us. Our stateroom is between the elevators in mid-ship and aft, and the aft elevators take you in to the middle of the Oceanview Cafe. The layout of the Oceanview Cafe takes a couple of days to get used to, as the food stations are around the central area. I prefer the S Class layout but you get used to where things are soon enough. It is a bit strange walking through venues to get from front to back and vice versa. You have to walk through the Rendezvous Lounge, Casino, Cellar Masters etc. whereas you don’t have to do that on an S Class ship. SHIP TRAVELER Posted April 25, 2018 #54 Share Posted April 25, 2018 UKPETE71, Thank you so much for the excellent travel log. We are signed up for this same cruise in 2019. I have read your groups entire roll call with a lot of interest and found out about this posting through our 2019 Connie roll call. I can't wait to be setting where you are today. I will be following your post to the very end. We have not been on the Connie but took the Millie back from Japan to the US last year. Enjoying the photos. Thanks again for your time and effort. UKPete71 Posted April 25, 2018 Author #56 Share Posted April 25, 2018 The Celebrity Today for Wednesday 25th April. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
UKPete71 Posted April 25, 2018 Author #57 Share Posted April 25, 2018 The morning started with a pirate drill, or to give it it’s Celebrity name, ‘Safe Haven’ drill. This involved everyone in an outside/balcony/suite leaving their room and waiting in the corridor. Those in other areas were moved away from windows and the edge of the ship towards the centre. The drill took around 10 minutes. As today was the first of five consecutive sea days we thought we’d make use of the nice weather. It was a warm 30/86 so we spent most of the afternoon by the pool. At 6pm we had the commencement of “Operation LOVE”, which stands for Lights Out Virtually Everywhere. The outside decks where closed off and most outside lights were turned off. Instructions for guests were to close curtains and turn off balcony lights. With Operation LOVE in action the entertainment switched to inside areas only. The show in the theatre tonight was the first cast production of the cruise, ‘Land Of Make Believe’. This is our sixth Celebrity Cruise and I can honestly say I thought this was the best cast production I’ve seen. The story was there. The music was good. There was some humour thrown in too. It was a really enjoyable show. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
UKPete71 Posted April 25, 2018 Author #58 Share Posted April 25, 2018 After the show we did a bit of trivia that was hosted by Will, one of the Activity Team. The questions were cleverly worded and got some groans when the answers were ready out. As a result of doing the trivia we ate later than normal. The MDR menu for Wednesday evening. With dinner over it was time for the first silent disco of the cruise. It took over deck four near the Martini Bar. It proved very popular and over ran the published time it was meant to finish. I’ve posted a short video on my Instagram, ukpete71 if you want to watch it. There are also some more pictures there from the cruise so far. jays3an1 Posted April 25, 2018 #59 Share Posted April 25, 2018 Hi Pete Many thanks for your posts which we are reading with interest and making us feel part of the cruise. We were due to sail on this cruise but had to cancel on the 6 April due to my husband developing kidney failure, sepsis etc not sure if you will remember from the roll call. Out of interest can you tell us if they have offered any special deals on the drinks packages whilst on board? Looking forward to the next instalment, thanks once again J & J
Rare hcat Posted April 25, 2018 #60 Share Posted April 25, 2018 It is a pity that pirates still exist. A Bon Voyage through the Gulf of Aden. Glad that the cruise line takes the threat seriously and the Captain communicates directly to guests. Very sad that lawless states continue to harbor these dangerous criminals..hope they are eradicated one day,

Out of interest can you tell us if they have offered any special deals on the drinks packages whilst on board? Looking forward to the next instalment, thanks once again J & J I hope your husband is doing ok. I remember you having to cancel and posted the link to this thread on the roll call hoping you’d find it. [emoji846] I’ve not seen any deals on drinks. When we got on we heard someone ask about prices and they were quoted the normal $55 a day for the Classic Package. We got my DW the Classic Package around a month before sailing when there was a sale on, so got 25% off her package. I’ve just got the Premium Non-Alcoholic Package, which is $22 a day. That wasn’t included in the pre-cruise sale so there was no incentive for me to buy ahead of time. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

UKPete71 Posted April 26, 2018 Author #66 Share Posted April 26, 2018 We had the first of our two clock changes on Wednesday night. Having done two TA’s last year with six changes over 15 days on each it’s nice to only have two this cruise. The Celebrity Today for Thursday 26th April. UKPete71 Posted April 26, 2018 Author #67 Share Posted April 26, 2018 This was the ship’s position at 10am on Thursday morning. Thursday was our second of five successive sea days. We just had another lazy day. We did venture up to the Rooftop Terrace to watch a film, Justice League. We were lucky to get a space in the shade. It was meant to be 29/84 today. There was a breeze and a bit of cloud cover that disguised how hot it actually was, as despite covering my myself with factor 30 sun cream I still got a bit burnt. The volume seemed to go up and down. It was noisy for the opening titles but not so much when the characters were talking. You really had to tune in to them talking to hear it. We went to the General Knowledge Trivia in the Rendezvous Lounge late afternoon. It was packed. It thinned out for the Music Trivia straight away afterwards. I don’t know whether that’s less popular or it was because the timing was close to people getting ready for early dining? The MDR menus for Thursday evening. After eating we went to the karaoke in the Rendezvous Lounge. It wasn’t that busy initially but filled out once the second show in the theatre finished. We are still in pirate territory so the outside decks remain on lockdown from 6pm until 6am. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
