Would you travel on a cruise ship that didn't serve alcohol?

I was thinking that maybe it's possible to go on a "real" alcoholfree cruise around Saudiarabia where people don't drink and many are SUPERRICH and can afford to pay for it.

I have sympathy for and I understand why those who don't want to drink alcohol would prefer a cruise where the cost didn't include 'free' alcohol. Why should they subsidise other's boozing?

 

 

Some river cruise lines don't include drinks. Those who want can buy a drinks package or pay-as-they-go.

 

I understand if people who don't drink alcohol prefer to book cruises with no alcohol included in the fare. On most cruises the drinking people subsidise the fare for those who don't drink alcohol.

The costs would be remarkably higher. Here’s proof.

Disney doesn’t have a casino. That’s one of the biggest profit centers along with alcohol for a cruise line.

Disney cruises charge big time fares because of this and because they are Disney.

Just because they do not drink at home does not mean that they do not enjoy a few drinks on a cruise ship...well out of sight of the homefires.

No booze, we don't cruise. Like having wine with meals and bloody mary's in the morning.

Since I just posted a new thread asking about the best cruise line for teetotallers I guess you can predict my answer!

Some of my funniest and most sociable friends don’t drink, and heavy drinkers can become the most boring, and boorish, company. Fun people are fun with or without alcohol and dull people don’t improve after a drink so I wouldn’t expect the ambience of a booze free cruise to be much different from any other.

While I enjoy wine with dinner virtually every evening, as well as an occasional mixed drink or liqueur, I would not particularly enjoy a “dry” cruise; but, for the ideal itinerary and accommodations, I am not so alcohol dependent that I would refuse a great deal.
