Royal Carribean/ Celebrity

Does Rccl points count on celebrity and vice versa since they are owned by the same company

No, the points accrue to each cruise line separately.

However, there is limited recognition of loyalty levels.

I am Elite on Celebrity and will be going on RCCL for the first time since 1998. Will I be eligible for the equivalent status on Royal? If so, what are the perks?

You will be Diamond status on Royal.

Best perks are balcony discount, free drinks in the evening, and internet discount.

No that would make way too much sense for these two lines.

I completely disagree.

You think that the DL and CL/SL situation is a CF *now*?

Just start combining points and see how bad it can get.

You will be Diamond status on RCI. Make sure you call them and get a membership number as it isn’t automatic.

Diamond gets you a $ discount if you have a balcony, complimentary drinks for a few hours in the evening, a free photo and internet discount amongst other things.

The points are calculated differently between the brands. On X it is based on the grade of room bought, so the higher grades get more points whilst on RCI it is a point per night based on sailing duration (doubled up for a suite).

So you may have 300 points on X, but you will be on RCI with just a few points (let’s say 15) if you have sailed with them before. Whilst you get Diamond status and perks you are not a “real” Diamond, and if you decide to stick with RCI and move up through the tiers, your points will start from 15.....

Elite is the highest tier they offer the reciprocal agreement. Elite Plus and Zenith are only Diamonds on RCI.

We are also Elite with X and hadn’t been with RCI since 2012. When I phoned to book Jewel for Sept I gave them my X member number, was told that we immediately qualify for Diamond and got 30% disc plus $50 pp OBC. I did ask about a drinks package, but as not big drinkers it was more out of curiosity.

I also understand that there are some additional perks and the Diamond lounge, so as far as we are concerned we think the RCI loyalty program is very fair

30% discount? That must be a UK thing.

It certainly isn't! No different or unique perks over here for being C&A.

I think there must have been a promo when they booked which is something quite different to anything related to C&A.

Using your logic Princess, HAL, Carnival, Costa, Cunard, .... should all combine their points to one total account as they are owned by the same company?

An object or person can only occupy one space at time, so does that mean everyone will here or there?

Yeah, but combining the points of the two programms would make many more people D/D+/P or the respecitve X levels immediately and even more much faster. So numbers would be exploding.

Does any of these lines have anything worth sharing?

I've read that Princess has a pretty good program.

I think Celebrity has a much better program than princess. And I sail on both lines. Elite on Celebrity and Platinum on Princess. This is just my opinion.

You probably know the details better than I, but my impression was that the Princess program was more valuable for longer cruises, which Princess does more than Royal. Things like free laundry, not just one wash & fold bag.

Princess Elite passengers have that option. And I think celebrity also offers it to either their elite Plus and Zenith passengers or just zenith. I’m not sure.

We did our first Celebrity on April the 23rd. on th Equinox as nice as it was we are not going to start over with a new program we are Diamond +. we would sail Celebrity if they had matching program, I am not suggesting point to point but when sailing it would be nice to have the extra perks on Celebrity.

My wife didn't enjoy the cruise as much as I did, so that was probably our our first and last. Too bad I enjoy the ship it was nice to walk thru a fresh smeling casino. We saw a child once or twice but always with their parents. Celebrity have longer itinerary's. I felt like I was one of the youngest people on broad.
