*** LIVE *** from Oasis of the Seas - May 6, 2018

Recommended Posts

Following along, enjoying your posts. We were on Oasis a few years ago in 2014 just before her latest refurbishments and loved her. We'll be taking our Grand Daughter with us on her sister Harmony in 12 days. Reading your posts will help pass the time this week.

Have a wonderful cruise...

Dinner is served tonight A La Windjammeur....

Sitting here in shorts and flip flops [emoji16]

Food selection quite good. Nice variety and so far pleased with the taste.

Great antipasti selection (my fave) with boundless prosciutto, balsamic tomatoes and feta cheese.

I think we will see the ice show tonight at 10:30pm - Frozen in Time. I booked all of our onboard entertainment in advance, although not sure we will go to everything.

Have just stumbled across your live review and super excited to be following along. My family and I will be taking our first RCI cruise aboard Oasis at the end of August. I have already been doing a little research on the ship, but really looking forward to reading about current adventures. Love the banter between you and Ocean Boy, keep up the fun posts and have an excellent time!

A DL Bartender that was fabulous on our last 2 OA cruises is Made Putra (a short guy, who I think is from the Philippines). Is he in the DL for your sailing? He knew our drink orders and got them ready as soon he saw us or if the other couple we cruised with came in before us.

It’s been a really nice evening onboard. What I really love about Oasis class is that it never really feels crowded. The Promenade was hopping with free booze tasting, and the shops onboard were displaying their wares and what to expect during the week ahead.

I took a peek inside Casino Royale and found the non-smoking area quite tolerable. I might have to throw a bit of $$ in a machine and try my luck....

Guest relations had a huge line just about an hour ago. I always wonder what people need from them so early in the cruise?

I meant to post this earlier

Captain Claus was very funny as he was ending the Muster Drill today. I think he will entertain us with his Noon Report.

Tomorrow is going to be a relaxing day at sea. The weather looks dicey (clouds and some sun with a passing thunderstorm thrown in for good measure) at this point, but I’m cool with that. I have a few great novels to read and a beautiful ship to explore [emoji16]

One of my biggest hesitations about cruising the Oasis class has been the sheer number of people and that it would be way too crowded, especially at the Windjammer and the pool. Very interested in seeing how your trip goes and hoping to see some first hand pictures of those areas on sea days. Hope y'all have a fantastic time!

Is the cat woman planning to take in CATS?

CK...

Go out on deck, look off of the starboard side...... Great Abaco Island.

You are sailing down the outside of the Bahama island chain. I suspect you will come back on the inside through the Old Bahama Channel. We did the same on Freedom last week.

Harmony is ahead of you heading east. You might actually be able to see her off your bow from the front of the solarium in a little while. She is taking the passage between Great Abaco and Eleuthera Island.

The pool will always be crowded on every sea day, on every ship, fleet wide. That has always been my experience and I expect Oasis will be no different. Today is a sea day, and it’s overcast, so it won’t be a real barometer. Having said that, I’ve seen passengers up there in every kind of weather [emoji15]

I’ll let you know about the WJ later today.

She has tickets, however not sure about it. Heard very mixed reviews, and besides which, I prefer this cat..

I’ll probably go and try and stay for the second half which I hear is much better than the first. Have you seen it?

Your post is timely. We were just wondering where we are [emoji290]

Heading up to the Solarium shortly.

If it’s not too much to ask can you find out who the Sports staff supervisor is? Sadly we live on the Flowrider all day so they make a huge difference.

Living on the Flowrider isn’t sad at all, in fact I’m a bit jealous! It would be a total disaster on all fronts if I tried balancing on one of those boards. I’ll leave it to the pro’s [emoji1303]

I’ll find out who the Supervisor is [emoji4]
