Extra Kim Posted May 6, 2018 #1 Share Posted May 6, 2018 We would like to do a another cruise in the Caribbean and at the same time visit a friend and his family in Tortola, Br Virgin Islands. What I'm looking for is an dis-embarktion port that have flights to Tortola. From what I have found out Miami and Fort Lauderdale doesn't, but San Juan, Puerto Rico and St Maarten does (not sure if you can dis-embark there). New York isn't an option since we don't want to spend several days cruising in the cold. Is there other options? The cruise line can be any of the mainstream lines, but Carnival and HAL need to have VERY nice ports of call to be an option for us.
Rare LHT28 Posted May 6, 2018 #2 Share Posted May 6, 2018 Take a cruise that starts/ends in St Martin like Windstar Carnival ends Barbados P & O ends in St Lucia & Barbados play around with the islands that are not USA territories
Nic6318 Posted May 6, 2018 #3 Share Posted May 6, 2018 Hi There are also many cruises that start and end in San Juan. If you can fly there from home, it might be convenient.
Rare mom says Posted May 6, 2018 #4 Share Posted May 6, 2018 It's easy to Google flights into the BVI airports. San Juan seems to have the most flights. And several cruise lines sail Eastern and Southern Caribbean itineraries from there. According to another website "Several cruise lines offer cruises from San Juan, including Carnival, Royal Caribbean, PO Cruises, Princess Cruises, Silversea and Celebrity Cruises"

Sail round trip out of San Juan on one of the mass market lines, or round trip out of St. Marteen on one of the luxury lines.
jcl410 Posted May 7, 2018 #6 Share Posted May 7, 2018 Also check the cost to fly to St. Thomas in the USVI. There is more service from the US mainland to St. Thomas. There are ferries that go from St. Thomas to Tortola; Aloha, John
