Afternoon Tea in a suite

I think you have to be present. They won't even deliver the complimentary plate of canapes if you are not there.

Not true, we have come back many times to our suite with the nightly canapes waiting for us (we like the profiteroles).

We have hosted Afternoon tea twice now in our suites for our CC Rollcall group. I called a day early with the head count. Way too much food, they even bring an extra table for it.

Interesting--we came back to our suite on the Caribbean Princess in April 2018 to find a note that said they were unable to deliver the canapes because no one was there, and to please call for delivery. And yes, it was profiteroles night!

I have had my suite, elite and TA plates of canapés delivered without being in the cabin quite often. I actually had to jump through hoops to have them not automatically deliver them on this last sailing on the first night because we never eat them and always come back to the cabin to find them sitting there. It's usually sometime between muster and dinner when they would deliver them. Since they took away the chocolate covered strawberries, I usually don't bother any longer.

We did have the tea delivered once without being in the cabin a few years ago which I wasn't thrilled about because they delivered it early and the tea was lukewarm by the time we got there. It was the only time we have had it delivered to our stateroom because of that and because we usually have it up in the Sanctuary anyway.

Moki...from reading some of your posts seems you had an off cruise with service, when you enjoyed that window suite...which by the way is a very cool cabin..I've been in one, but never stayed in one. Lucky you...

Did you have to sign for your canapes?

We never have had to. (And we usually have them delivered while we are out of the cabin.) Since there is no charge, there is no need to sign for them.

Yes, I recently ordered tea for my suite.

The day before

No $5 charge (but I had Plus)

I was specific in what I ordered and still Room Service got it wrong.

I had ordered 2 hot water caraffes and 4 cups (only 2 cups showed up).

I had ordered scones and a few other dishes (no scones)

I had expected some tea sandwiches (none)

You can not order this on the app.

Be very specific with exactly what you want including tea bags, sugar, cream, clotted creme, jam, number of serving utensils/cups, etc.

I felt bad that I had to have the person making the delivery "fix" the order and return.

We had guests and it was pretty embarrassing.  If you do not order specifics, there will be a lot of wasted food.

My recent ones do not vary by much EXCEPT that one time 6/11/23 when they gave me enough to feed several rooms. And no, it's an Elite & Suite perk. There's no RS phone call charge for perks (exchanging mini bar or ordering tea).

@Ombud Your plating was much prettier and functional than anything I have ever ordered.  And yes, too much food for anyone sitting.

I specifically request vegetarian only. So I just got a little .... it's still enough. That middle picture is how the waiter set it up from 4 (yes 4) covered platters. It would've been tea, dinner, and breakfast. I prefer just 1 plate but they prefer 4 covered platters so I don't let 2 into the room (sandwiches & plain cookies).

I also refuse formal night canapés unless they're chocolate covered strawberries but they haven't had those in a year

I have to tell them to stop sending chocolate covered strawberries from suite or casino departments

I receive the chocolate strawberries on formal nights (even without requesting them).  On the Europe cruise, the strawberries were so tiny.  Must be a local supply thing.

And yes, you can order tea as a suite perk.
