txtechmk Posted June 20, 2018 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2018 We have never sailed with Celebrity but will this fall. The ship ends at Barcelona at 6 AM. We are staying three nights in Barcelona. Since we would need transportation to the hotel anyway, and the hotel room would not be available until after lunch, we have decided to do a semi-private tour of Barcelona highlights after we disembark. The tour would pick us up at the ship and drop us at our hotel afterward. They want to pick us up at the ship at 8:30 AM, and I don't know if this is late enough. We are in a suite, therefore should get "earlier disembark time", but I don't know how long it will actually take us. Anyone who has finished their cruise in Barcelona, please let me know how long it took you to get off ship, and find your luggage, and on your way....... (We haven't booked the tour yet) Thank you. Mr. Click Posted June 20, 2018 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2018 We finished in Barcelona last September but we had an earlyish flight so we did a walk off leaving our cabin at 7am, we were in the pre-booked car and on our way by 7:15am. Since you are in a suite you should be able to hang around for a while and wait for the time you want to depart as long as it is before 8:30am. Getting off the ship is quick and easy. Great idea to book a tour for the day and then go to your hotel. We have done it in other ports when we were staying on and has worked well. jelayne Posted June 20, 2018 #3 Share Posted June 20, 2018 Should be no problem meeting a 8:30 tour. The ship should be cleared by 6:30-7. The MC Concierge will escort you to the debarkation area when you are ready. Enjoy Barcelona, it is our favorite city.
sddsddean Posted June 21, 2018 #4 Share Posted June 21, 2018 I know this is a while ago, but in 2008 we did a b2b2b on the Explorer, each time in Barcelona. Every time, the ship was cleared (of passengers) by 9am...very efficient! Simon
kathynorth Posted June 21, 2018 #5 Share Posted June 21, 2018 Barcelona is an easy city to navigate as a DIY. You may want to consider contacting the hotel to see if the hotel will store your bags on the day of arrival since check in is in the late afternoon. We were able to do this on our two trips to Barcelona. Then you could grab HoHo tickets and aclimate to the city. This would eliminate the need to worry about what time you disembark. Barcelona is a great city to visit. I hope you have a great time!
Rare cruisequeen4ever Posted June 21, 2018 #6 Share Posted June 21, 2018 Barcelona has a very efficient disembarkation process. Do you express walk up to be safe but you should be fine. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
