Getaway dry dock May 2019

what changes can be expected on the Getaway when it goes in for dry dock refurbishment?

It is very rare that details of dry dock changes are listed beforehand. Usually you have to wait until afterwards to see what has changed.

 

Having said that, the Breakaway, which is a year older than the Getaway, has just come out of dry dock and there were no significant changes made. I would expect the same for the Getaway.

You know you are getting old when the Getaway is scheduled for dry dock. They replace carpet, decking, paint, and some other small things. Like Breakaway, I don't see them radically changing the ship. Just an update

But you never know. They are phasing out O'Sheehans for the Local pub. So the name would change and a few other things.

Not anything that they can't do on turnaround days anyway. It's going to drydock because the certifying agencies require it, not because Getaway needs it. Don't expect to see anything different after drydock.

Likely not happening...  The underlying structure to support the weight of the track and cars is just likely not there without effective the weight and balance of the ship.

We were on the Breakaway after dry-dock and absolutely loved the new 'Pour House'.  Maybe they will add this to Getaway?

I hope they do not get rid of the Spice H2O bar.  Love that.

The new ships appear to not have the same concept because of the race track and the paint ball game which is for very few passengers.

 JMHO.

When the Epic did her 5-year drydock, they demolished all of the public areas down to the deck plates and rebuilt.
