Anytime dining option or second seating?

Recommended Posts

I going on the Millenium in October to China and we decided to take anytime dining. It is our 1st time, we usually take second seating. Is it a safe option?

If you have concerns you can still make reservations for each night.

We love Millie. We’ve done anytime dining with several ships and the longest we’ve waited for a table for 2 was 15 mins. If your willing to share a table then usually there’s no wait. They give you a buzzer if you’ve to wait for a table. It is possible to pre book a table time the night before.

It is a good option. You can choose when you wish to dine. Usually 7-730pm is a busy time. If you prefer a later time but before the 2nd, you would be able get seated around 8pm without any difficulty.

On our recent cruise, we had Anytime dining. We found a waitstaff team we liked and made reservations, requesting their section each night. They would only let us make reservations for the next day and times were limited when we forgot and called the morning of (usually 6 and 9).

We like dining late (8/8:30) and found that we usually didn't have a problem, though the first night we chose to wait for our favorite section they gave us a buzzer and we still hadn't been called by 9:15!

Despite this, I think Anytime is a good option. You can vary your times and it is easier to switch locations if you have a preference. And, as others have said, you can make a reservation at eat at the same time as Late.

Cheers,

Hi everyone,

It's our first time with Celebrity, on the Millennium, in december, and we have the second seating. Is it possible to choose a table for two ?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Muriel

It is certainly possible, so go ahead and request one in advance.

But whether or not you get the table you want will depend on supply vs. demand for that particular cruise.

The standard suggestion is to take the dining card that you find in your cabin when you board and go see the maitre d' who is usually posted somewhere outside the dining room - just ask.

Many people change their table assignments after the first night, so even if you don't get a table you like on the first night, you are often able to get one by the second night.

Whenever we're in the MDR, we choose late dining and request a table for two pre-cruise through our TA. The first thing we do on embarkation is go to the MDR and check with the maître d, before our cabin is ready in most cases. On the one occasion that we weren't seated at a table for two, the maître d changed it for us immediately with no problem. Especially at late seating, it seems less crowded, and they are more easily able to accommodate your request.
