We are booked for April 21 2019. In looking the excursions for Honolulu it seems that so many of them are at the same time (10:00 am to 3:00 pm). So if we wanted to go to Pearl Harbor and to Waikiki Beach, they are at the same time. Has anyone dealt with this. We are in port from early morning to late at night. Thank you.

We got tickets for the Arizona (the actual ride to the memorial is closed for repairs right now), cost $1 each. Took the bus using our Medicare cards (cost 50 cents or 25, can't remember), if you're too young for Medicare it costs more like $1 or $1.50. Check "Da Bus" website for current prices, it's changed since we were there 4 years ago. Rode the bus RT. It took about 45 minutes each way. Total cost when we did it was about $6.

We've taken the bus to Waikiki many times. Not a terribly long ride (30-45 minutes) and you can do what you want, when you want and return on your schedule.

After you return to the ship around 3pm, take a break. Then either take a local bus*, taxi or Uber to Waikiki Beach area. It's easy. You will be able to walk around the very busy downtown area, maybe stop for something to eat before returning to the ship which will have an all aboard time of around 10:30pm for the 11pm sailing.

* research the bus routs and fares. Believe the last time we did this they only accepted exact change.

Thank you both for the information. We may just do one ship excursion and do one on ourselves. Yes, we qualify for medicare (even though we don't look like it:D:D:confused::confused::confused:)

We have done the Hawaii cruise twice. Both times we arranged rental cars at each port. The car prices were very good.

You are in the good old USA and why book a tour???

You know what you want to see -- go see it on your own.

Just our opinion.

I would recommend booking your own car for each island. Except for traffic, it is the easiest way to get in everything. Parking in Waikiki is expensive and hard to find. If you don't mind "da Bus", you can get around almost everywhere in Honolulu.

Closed: Launch to the Arizona Memorial but tickets still available for movie. Museum is free to walk around.

Closed: Jaggard Museum on Hawaii Island. Hawaii Volcano National Park is very unstable right now.

There is still a lot to see on Hawaii Island. Bring your Golden Age Passport (National Park) with you.

We are also on this cruise and this will be our second cruise to Hawaii. The first time we did the city tour, punch bowl and Pearl Harbor. Like was previously mentioned it gets back to the ship early so we took the bus down to the international market, shopped and had dinner then headed back to the ship around 10 pm. This time we are doing the bus early, to shop and walk around, but will need to get back in time for the only excursion we have booked, Germaines Luau. The ship is docked for a long time so plenty of time to do what works for you.

We were very disappointed with the Pearl Harbor excursion when we went in 2017. There was NO time to see anything such as the museum or walk around the grounds. It was hop on the boat to the memorial and back again to the bus. The driver was entertaining though.

If we did it again, we'd make our own arrangements.

Hopefully, the Memorial will be open again by the time you go in April.

We took the bus to Pearl in the morning, and spent several hours, including doing the tour of the submarine and Mighty Mo BB, as well as the Arizona. We took the bus back in the late afternoon, caught a bite to eat on the ship, and then walked to the beach. Took a swim at sunset and were back on board with plenty of time to spare. It was a fairly long walk but we are walkers.
