So we are hanging out at the gate, hoping we board soon. Probably not soon enough... Keep us posted as to how your flights to Paris and Slovenia work out. Looking forward to more details as to your experiences in Slovenia, what you love, do, eat, drink and see there, etc. Visuals?? Safe travels. THANKS! Enjoy! Yes, the Peacocks got plucked. 😞 I just hope KS does not win. DH was born and raised in Wichita and it is always a big deal in our home. I will need a huge glass of wine if they do LOL. Rare drron29 Posted March 28, 2022 #13158 Share Posted March 28, 2022 Some Australiana. And there is a Southern aurora often seen in Tasmania. Our Met bureau has a page giving times it might occur if you are down that way. https://www.sws.bom.gov.au/Aurora/3/1
Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted March 28, 2022 #13159 Share Posted March 28, 2022 Beautiful @drron29! I've never seen a parrot family before – thought they came from a PetsRUs factory LOL And the auroras! Are those from March, not winter time? Any chance I would see them on a cruise from Auckland to Sydney Jan. 2024? Meanwhile, we had a nice sunset tonight on Mobile Bay [where the sun goes down like ... Kipling 🤣]

Rare jpalbny Posted March 28, 2022 #13161 Share Posted March 28, 2022 (edited) Hi Coolers! Paris was fun as always and my birthday dinner was delicious. We arrived in Ljubljana yesterday. It's been sunny and 70F the past few days. Gorgeous weather! We arrived in Paris on Saturday and took an afternoon walk. Notre Dame. Looks almost normal from the front. But it's fenced off and inaccessible. Boat on the Seine We wandered The Marais district for an hour. Found a few old houses from the 14th Century. Here's one. Sunday morning we awoke to this view from our window. Then we walked in the Latin Quarter before breakfast. Luxembourg Gardens were peaceful. And Saint-Sulpice church. We flew to Ljubljana and arrived to a beautiful day there. After checking in we explored. A dragon, one of four on the Dragon Bridge. The river is beautiful by day, And by night. We have lucked out as it's restaurant week here. All the restaurants are having 3 or 4 course dinners for cheap prices. So we had a delicious 4-course meal for €23 last night! Today we had a guided tour. The building on the left was one of only a few that survived the earthquake in 1895. On the right, a fin-de-siècle construction from after the quake. Same bridge, different dragon and angle. Two tourists atop Ljubljana Castle. A little hazy so the Alps aren't clearly visible. Off to dinner soon. Tomorrow, Lake Bled! Rare TLCOhio Posted March 29, 2022 #13166 Share Posted March 29, 2022 Does alcohol and drinking help in managing life? From touring Miami's Little Havana in early February after spending time in the Florida Keys, below are a couple of visuals that I captured that might be of interest. Yes, Mr. Hemingway was a smart and savvy writer!! Correct? THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio From Miami's Little Havana, here are a couple of visuals in support of drinking. Rare jpalbny Posted March 29, 2022 #13168 Share Posted March 29, 2022 Lake Bled. Wow. Chris is excited to see the castle! A closer view of the Castle. The Lake was so smooth early in the morning. St. Mary's Church, on the island in the middle of the lake. We went to the castle for a different perspective of the Lake and the Island. One happy tourist! Quite the spectacular backdrop! For Terry. Cream cake is the local specialty (on the left). We took a boat to St. Mary's Church. More views of the castle, of course. It was a bit of a climb to get there. Next, further into the Julian Alps to Bohinj. A view of Lake Bohinj from the Vogel Mountain ski area. There's still some snow. Skiing anyone? It was a great day. Tomorrow we leave Slovenia for Croatia.

It's on the wine list at a nice restaurant here in Albany. Hi JP, Happy Birthday. We just arrived back home after the first trip in 2 years, on the Seabourn Ovation, where we celebrated Peter's birthday. Hope your trip is going well. Which Albany restaurant has the tannat on its wine list? We have bought tannats from Uruguay and France at Empire, and Exit9 used to have a nice one from Brazil.
