How to get Vibe passes on NCL Getaway if you are in Haven

If you are booked in the Haven or even win a bid through the upgrade advantage program, how do you go about getting Vibe passes? Do you still have to race to wherever they are selling them? Or are you pretty much boarded before everyone else and purchase them at the Haven check in?

You will be escorted to the Haven lounge. Immediately, stop at the concierge desk and ask them to book you into the Vibe.

HOWEVER, the Vibe is literally 3" away from the Haven sundeck (behind a metal barrier). There is zero reason to waste money on the Vibe.

There is a reason to get Vibe passes if you're in Haven. It's called children/kids.

Haven has them.

Vibe doesn't.

1. You aren't forced to stay with the escort. There are no cattle prods being used to herd people to the lounge. Simply use priority boarding and walk to where passes are distributed (varies by ship).

2. Passes aren't sold at check-in.

3. It seems that the Haven sundeck is now age 16+ only on BA/BA Plus ships. Whether VIBE is worth it is a personal decision (also depends on ship).

As has been posted above the Haven Sun deck and Vibe are next to each other and so I would first check out the Haven sun deck. If you are then feeling that kids are an issue (on our cruise they were not) then the Vibe is at least under 16 free.

From my point of view the Haven has plenty of places to have a nice quiet rest and relax so I would never be paying extra for the Vibe.

However, if its for you simply ask the concierge to arrange it

I’ve done Vibe while in the Haven several times, but not always. Vibe is 18+ vs Haven 16+ (or all ages in the Courtyard). Vibe has a bar feet away vs only the Haven Courtyard bar. Vibe is generally a more friendly and fun atmosphere.

Haven boards before everyone else. Upon check in just break away from the group and head to Guest Services to purchase Vibe passes. No need to run, but don’t walk around sight-seeing either.

Obviously, do whatever suits you. But, as others have said, the Haven area is right next door to the Vibe. While true, the Vibe has a bar. The Haven has wait staff that are constantly around to get you whatever you order.

In fairness, I've only looked into the Vibe when the door was opened by someone, so I've never experienced it.

Never saw kids in the area around the Haven loungers. Have seen a few in the pool area. But, never had an issue with them being there. The water slides are much more desirable to them vs the calm area around the Haven pool.

Not sure what the Vibe costs, either. Is it relatively inexpensive?

Apparently you can email the concierge prior to departure and ask that they set aside Vibe passes for you and have them in your stateroom when you arrive.

I've heard this method is hit or miss, but you could always stop by the Concierge and ask on your way in.

The concierge has passes whether people request them or not. The problem is that people believe that by requesting passes via the concierge desk (not the actual concierge), the passes are held specifically for them. If (for ex.) too many Haven guests request passes, some of those guests will be disappointed because the concierge only has a limited number.

The BEST option is for Haven guests to use priority boarding and get them directly (Guest Services, Headliners) since there are more passes available there vs the number that the concierge has.

The best option for Haven guests must be to use priority boarding and ask the concierge about passes. (If the concierge pick up the guests in the waiting area, I'm not sure if he/she always does that.) Then the concierge can tell them if they have to go to Headliners or not. No need to go there without asking the concierge first.

The concierge/assistant doesn't usually do the escorting. If it is them, great. If not, going directly is the best option. There are more passes at Headliners/Guest Services. The location is closer than the Haven lounge. Plus, you can leave the concierge's passes for late arriving Haven guests. ;)

As you can see in my signature I haven't cruised on NCL since 2015. We have had suites on NCL four times and the concierge picked us up in the waiting area three times. I agree with you, if they don't do it it's better to go to the place where the passes are sold.

When we cruised on the Breakaway the concierge called to reserve passes for us, he had no passes to give us and we were the first to board. I understand that the process may have changed since 2015.

The "calling down" thing is riskier now that so many more people (non-Haven) have priority boarding. If those people snag passes, calling down from the lounge may be too late.

I'd just prefer to minimize the risk.

Wait...so you don't have to do the group escort on to the ship? I thought there was a holding area where Haven guests had to await the escort. I'd MUCH rather walk myself on to the ship. Sorry to get sideways on the topic.

There are no cattle prods but no stampedes, either. (hopefully :D)

You can't just bumrush the ship even if a Haven guest.

I mean as the escort takes you onboard, you can just say "...excuse me..I'll take the stairs..." and get your VIBE pass.

This going to sound REALLY lazy and more....but one of the things I love most about being escorted to the Haven is NOT having to deal with the crazy elevator issues! As they have the dedicated one for Haven guests....this would make me even more prone to trying to have the VIBE issue handled by the Concierge staff. Just something to consider......

Yes, it's super lazy.;p

Seriously, using the concierge (especially if boarding early) will work fine 99% of the time. It's just that with so many other priority boarders, there is a chance of failure if the concierge has none (or runs out if other Haven guests get them first) and doesn't call in time.

A late arriving Haven guest has a backup plan (the concierge) but early arriving Haven guests are slightly better off if they take the initiative.

But they still board after Haven.

More people with priority makes it harder for people without priority to get VIBE passen but I can't see why that makes the "calling down" thing riskier.

I don't say that you are wrong but I can't really see why it's more riskier now, what do you mean?

If you're the first Haven guest, there is no risk. There are many Haven guests. If a later arriving Haven guest arrives before general boarding begins, that Haven guest might believe that either the concierge will still have passes or that the concierge can just call down to have them held. Many Haven guests are utilizing the concierge so by the time that Haven guest gets to the concierge, others (B2Bs, latitudes top tiers, etc.) may have priority boarded. If those people get them before the concierge calls,...SOL. I'd just hate for someone to read on the forum that the concierge way will always work. The main source should be the best option and the concierge is a great backup plan.

If the two of us board at the same time and you go to the concierge and I go directly, we'll probably BOTH have success. That sliver of a chance isn't really significant but I would be kicking myself if the concierge couldn't make the call in time knowing that I could have saved time by going myself (the scenario above).

But if less people had priority boarding the general boarding should start earlier so late arriving Haven guests should just as likely miss the VIBE passes.

In my example, where I said that it should be best to ask the concierge first, the Haven guest should use priority boarding and be picked up in the waiting area by the concierge.

With other scenarious it might be better not to ask the concierge first and go directly to where the passes are sold.

When we cruised on the Breakaway I asked the concierge before we boarded so I had no reason not to follow him to the Haven.
