Rhapsody Ocean View Suite VO 8000

Has anyone stayed in stateroom 8000 on Rhapsody since the recategorization in May 2018. It’s now VO Ocean View Suite. I’m guessing they will consider in a junior suite, but at 2 bed and 2 bath I can’t seem to confirm that, especially after the May changes.

We're in 8038 Jr. Suite on Rhapsody in less than a month. I can report but afterward.

Got an email from the concierge,  it appears 8000 VO will be considered a full suite

Always read they had same perks as junior suites,  love perks for full suites , enjoy.

Yeah nice surprise, the TA said the same thing when I booked, I think its a recent change. funnily enough it was cheaper than a junior, although it does not have a balcony .

I'm curious if this cabin was considered a full suite after all.  I've seen some RC literature which shows this cabin category would be given "grand suite" status as of September, 2018.

Thank you.  I'm booked in this cabin for a July cruise out of Venice.  Having full suite perks would be a nice bonus!

Does anyone have any pictures of this suite (8000) since the last refurbishment, I believe in 2016?

 

We have this suite booked for July 2020 out of Venice. When we booked the agent thought this ship may be going in for an "AMPLIFY" refurbishment schedule later this year although we can't find any details indicating that.

 

All the pics we have seen so far seem to be quite old and possibly before last update. We have done a few RC cruises and loved them all, just want to get an idea of what to really expect.

The older ships are not part of that program and have very little/nothing done to cabins during dry dock.

I just returned from the July 13 sailing out of Venice.  Cabin 8000 was very comfortable. There were 4 of us, 2 adult women and 2 teen aged girls.  It was very nice to have two bathrooms.  The decor is dated, the photos that I've seen before are accurate, but the amount of space in this cabin is wonderful, and the beds were quite comfortable.

 

This cabin gets full suite benefits, access to the concierge lounge, breakfast in chops, access to galley, bridge and theater tours.  If you have "my time" dining in the main dining room there is a separate line for guests with gold sea pass cards.

On the last day the suite guests gathered in Chops and the concierge Alan escorted us off the ship as soon as we had cleared customs around 7:30 and directed us right to our luggage.

Hope you had a great cruise! Do you mind saying whether you took advantage of any of those special tours and, if so, how were they? Also, how crowded was the concierge lounge during happy hour? And did you have priority tenders at any ports and, if so, were they particularly advantageous?

We did the bridge tour and found it very interesting, there was just a small group of about 10-12 guests that participated on this tour and the staff took the time to answer all of our questions. 

 

There was only one occasion when the concierge lounge was crowded at happy hour, but there were still open tables.  The one drawback to the lounge is that their are only two tables in the corners of the lounge that seat 4, otherwise it's just 2-tops with amazing views out the windows on deck 11.  The appetizers during the happy hour were very good, and the servers are very attentive and the drink orders were very prompt.

 

We chose to go to the lounge on embarkation day rather than face the crowds at the buffet.  There were sandwiches, cookies, fruit and veggies in the lounge as well as tea and lemonade.  It was a nice little refuge to regroup after the hectic people mover experience and crowded terminal.  There was only 1 other couple in the lounge at that time. I've attached a picture taken in the lounge on night 2.

 

On this cruise we didn't have any tender ports, but on previous cruises it was handy to be on the first tenders as we had private tours booked.  

On this cruise I appreciated getting off the ship first since we had to get to the train station and I was concerned about timing.
