Credit for days at sea

Yep, that's how me and my hubby became Platinum. It use to be 10 total cruises, didn't matter how many days. We don't  currently have the number of days that qualifies us for Platinum, we were just lucky to get in on it before they changed. But guess too many people were getting there, so they had to change it. Sorry for those of you who got in too late. Happy Cruising 😎

I did it the old fashioned way.....7 day cruises.  Got to Platinum, as well as Diamond taking week long cruises.  In 15 years I sailed Carnival 38 times for a total of 280 sea days, or an average of 7.3 days per cruise.

The only change I would like to see in Carnival's loyalty program is some type of reciprocity across all their brands, or at least an acknowledgement of my Carnival status when I cruise Princess, Cunard or other Carnival family brands.

I agree that Carnival should have some reciprocity across their brands.  We went on Costa back in 2003 because the leaders of our group picked the cruise line.  We went to Alaska on Princess because Carnival didn't go there.  Even a credit of 50% would get us to Platinum - our next cruise will get us there but would be nice to have it now.

The same reason I like the perks on my Delta Frequent Flyer card.  Would like early boarding, laundry service.

If you will achieve Platinum during your next cruise you will get the perks when you show up at the port, including priority boarding.

If we spent as much in the casino as we have buying artwork on board we would have had a free cruise by now.  Before anybody chimes in on how bad it is to buy art on the cruise ship, we only buy what we like, and not for investment.  We like to buy on the ship because we would probably never buy otherwise.

The perks associated with Platinum are not that great. Without any kind of priority or FTTF, you can still board the ship early if you pick an early boarding time. Not counting speciality cruises or cruises on brand new ships, the time between when they start boarding the ship until they call zone 1 is usually no longer than 15 minutes. As for laundry service, the only free service they offer is washing clothes in hot water, which is good for whites, but not much else.  The only benefit I use every cruise as a Platinum is buying 2 for 1 tickets for slot and blackjack tournaments, which saves me $12.50.

I agree, we had FTTF on our last cruise. (Closest I've ever been to having any thing close to Platinum-type perks) We got there early as we could and got checked in right before they called for D&P's, Suite guests and a wedding party to board, then FTTF and by the time we were on the gangway we could see they were starting to board everyone else. Like you said, it was probably about 15 minutes or so.
