Saildude16 Posted November 28, 2018 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2018 In a couple of months we'll have a 5 hour connection in ATL for our flight to EZE. Since departure is not until 2223 we'll dine before boarding. Recommendations of nice restaurants in/nearby the international terminal would be appreciated. Open to all cuisines. Have done internet research, but am looking for first hand experiences - both good and bad. Thanks.

I can't really answer (other than the Varsity) because I never ate dinner in the terminal but Varsity is an Atlanta landmark.
fbgd Posted November 28, 2018 #3 Share Posted November 28, 2018 With 5hrs: http://www.oneflewsouthatl.com/ Decent write-up, albeit a few years old but still relevant of the ATL options: https://atlanta.eater.com/2014/11/20/7254811/atlanta-airport-dining-hartsfield-jackson-international
sumiandkage Posted November 28, 2018 #4 Share Posted November 28, 2018 In addition to OFS, I've had good experiences with Ecco in F concourse and Cafe Intermezzo in B concourse. ATL has a common airside area for all gates foreign and domestic, and its good for your health to walk around between flights to reduce the odds of DVTs soI encourage you to roam freely throughout all areas on that side of security. Flymia Posted November 28, 2018 #5 Share Posted November 28, 2018 I love One Flew South. Have been there a few times, food is very good. The newest terminal (F I think) has a lot of good sit down options too. One Flew South is in E.
Globaliser Posted November 28, 2018 #6 Share Posted November 28, 2018 One Flew South. So far, the only airport restaurant I have ever been to that I would consider as a factor when deciding on routing.
Ashland Posted November 29, 2018 #7 Share Posted November 29, 2018 I connect in ATL often and regardless of where you choose to eat...make room for the carrot cake you can get at "A Piece Of Cake"...amazing
waterbug123 Posted November 29, 2018 #8 Share Posted November 29, 2018 I've long been a fan of One Flew South in concourse E, but have recently been introduced to Ecco in concourse F. I've only been to Ecco twice so far, but so far so good.
DogLover Posted November 30, 2018 #9 Share Posted November 30, 2018 Another vote for One Flew South, although it can sometimes be super busy. However, with a 5 hour layover, you should have plenty of time to dine without worry.
irishgal432 Posted December 1, 2018 #10 Share Posted December 1, 2018 Keep in mind, you can take the train or walk to other terminals. International terminal is F. You can walk/ride to A,B,C,D,E. If you have that much time you may walk to walk. They recently re did the underground walkways and it can kill some time.

The 'rainforest tunnel' between A and B concourse is actually a really cool art installation. As long as I've got time, I always make sure to walk through it.
