pmjnh Posted December 11, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 11, 2018 Hello, Does anyone know if there is a cruise line that does back to back transpacific cruises to New Zealand from the west coast USA , Hawaii or Vancouver? I have seen one way but I have not seen a return cruise listed anywhere. Looking for a way to avoid the long flight, but really want to see New Zealand. Thank you
GUT2407 Posted December 11, 2018 #2 Share Posted December 11, 2018 Usually they come Down Under in about Oct and Return around April.
The_Big_M Posted December 11, 2018 #3 Share Posted December 11, 2018 No. It costs them a lot of money too so they only do it to relocate for the season, not just long cruises with lots of sea days.
chopper_1 Posted December 11, 2018 #4 Share Posted December 11, 2018 You'll see a lot of NZ while waiting six months for the return leg. And totally worth it.
Tranquility Base Posted December 11, 2018 #5 Share Posted December 11, 2018 (edited) Not back to back, but it's relatively easy to do if you are willing to spend about 6 weeks in Australia & NZ. The trick is to pick up a West bound world cruise segment, eg: Princess, HAL, Oceania, Cunard, Crystal etc; then back on an East bound repositioning at the end of the NZ season. For example in 2020. Pacific Princess; LA - Sydney, 20 Jan - 19 Feb. Ruby Princess; Sydney - LA, 4 Apr - 2 May. This trans Pacific is also sold ex Auckland leaving on 12 Apr. There may be different combinations which give a shorter time. There are quite a few one way cruises between Australia & NZ during the season. Kiwi Kruzer Posted December 11, 2018 #6 Share Posted December 11, 2018 Check out the World Cruises especially P&O and Cunard. HAL and Regent also do Grand Voyages that circle the Pacific.
Rare MicCanberra Posted December 12, 2018 #7 Share Posted December 12, 2018 Pacific circle cruises from Sydney hit the west coast of the US, perhaps you can tie something in with that.
