Rare pierces Posted December 24, 2018 #1 Share Posted December 24, 2018 (edited) Pictures taken between Monday, December 24 and Sunday, December 30. Another year drifts into history. Hope you captured all the memories you wanted to. I'll be publishing my Picture A Year book next week and I'll provide a link to view it if anybody's interested. I encourage you to do the same! Merry Christmas! - Happy Holidays! - Happy Etc. Rules: See above That's it. This isn't a contest. All photos taken this week are welcome (not just cruising). Prizes will not be awarded. Discovering the joy of photography is the prize. The idea is to get folks out using their cameras for more than vacations and toddler birthdays. Post one. Post many. Up to you. We will never see gasoline that low -- ours is anywhere from $2.45 to $2.69 -- depending on which gas station you go to.
Krazy Kruizers Posted December 27, 2018 #7 Share Posted December 27, 2018 Love the bird pictures. Many of those birds are in our back yard. Noisy blue jays -- woodpeckers.

Rare pierces Posted January 2, 2019 Author #9 Share Posted January 2, 2019 The tail end of the year found us in Houston from Christmas Day to New Year's Day visiting family. One of the non-movie activities (movies are traditional with the Texas crowd) was a trip to NASA's Johnson Space Center. The Mercury, Gemini and Apollo capsules were goose-bumpy reminders of my childhood dreams and the 905 Shuttle Carrier 747 with the replica Independence mounted on it was another Bucket List photo. The real surprise was a display with the meticulously restored, full-sized Galileo shuttlecraft prop from the original Star Trek series. As a space-loving child of the ‘60s, both Space Centers and a Star Trek shuttlecraft within twelve months made it a great (if a bit nerdy) year! zackiedawg Posted January 7, 2019 #11 Share Posted January 7, 2019 Took me a while to get enough time through all the holiday craziness to sort through the photos I took during this time. Here are some wildlife shots taken on Dec 29th (Sat) of New Year's Weekend, around the local wetlands: Black and white warbler in the pine forest: Great blue heron about to land with a stick for his nest: A great egret flying low past the trees at sunset: A cattle egret flying close by at sunset: A cormorant flying low with nest materials, at dusk in very low light (ISO 4,000):
